  • Mediacar GPS Nav. Module ?!?

Am I right in thinking Mediacar is built using Visual Basic... So is Infomap Navigator.

Also the Professional Version is able to import pushpins, ie. GATSO's, and it is also supplied with an SDK that is said to enable people to create their own custom mapping aps.

Would it not be possible for some of the extraordinarily clever programmers on here to intergrate this technology into Mediacar so it has its own 'native GPS module rather than loading external programs...?

This not only cleans the install up a bit but I'm sure it wouldn't be possible to code a much worse screen layout (for 7" screens) than Directions Ltd. have done. We need something with big text, dialog box based data entry, and big clear buttons instead of trying to make everything visible at once like Directions Ltd. do
It would also be skinnable if it was part of Mediacar.

    Just a though

Falken, from www.action-replay.co.uk sent me an evaluation of the programmable version of the previous version of Infomap Navigator, and It's not that programmable. You can make it plot GPS, add destinations, but it doesn't let you find out the distance to the next turn. If it is, the documentation for the programmable interface is just so poor it doesn't say how to.

We're all hanging on with bated breath for the next release of the professional version. The SDK should be much improved but it will also have the integrated speed camera alerts.
Late this year, maybe early next year they'll also be releasing a version specifically for touchscreens. It just keeps getting better and better!
