  • Launch M$ Iexplorer(embedded) from main menu

Can I add a button to the main menu to launch internet explorer in an embedded window?

I have it working from the launch menu, but I dont want to have to go through 2 menus etc to get to it, I want all I use most on one screen, things I dont use that often can go on another.

same for gps, I dont want to be asked destinator/mappoint/external etc, just drop me in autoroute please!

I have also started writing some phone/car control software etc and would want to launch this off the main screen also.

how did you get IE to work embedded? I was able to add it to the launch menu but it always kept defaulting the IE window location to wherever it last was - the normal Windows behavior....

      1, You can't add buttons
2, Look in setup for the option to be asked which program you want or not
      3, Same as 1

            lez:

thanks for the info - i am now able to get IE to launch as an embedded app. How did you know to use Internet as the search string? Just curious as I want to add other apps such as email, etc......

The search string is what is written(or part of with *) in the titlebar when the program is launched without MediaCar.

I know this 'adding buttons to the main screen' thread died a while ago, due to it not being possible but.........

what about girder, can that not create a 'hotspot' onscreen where if the mouse is clicked then an action is performed?

so you would click the hotspot, girder would then perform a macro of clicks to go direct into your gps? media car sees 3 button presses opr whatever you only pressed it once?

the hotspot could be set up on an unused part of the background and a fake button drawn on it.

I've not used girder much, but from its readme's it seems possible.
