  • Strange problem with NUMOSKTOVAR and XMCHAN

    I have a button defined on my XM.skin to allow direct channel change.

    It is coded as follows:

    B30,10,204,73,46,"NUMOSKTOVAR;MYCHAN||XMCHAN;$MYCH AN$","Select XM channel"

    Attached is the debug.txt from using this button.

    I have checked and double checked both the NUMOSK.skin and the XM.skin along with their respective .jp files (used the skin editor) and I can't explain the behavior shown in the debug trace.

    It does this every time regardless of which skin I enter xm.skin from.

    Can someone see what is wrong?

    Regards,
    Jim

    Edited: Note there is no space in the button command definition in the skin. I have no idea why it is in the post

    Try this:

    B30,10,204,73,46,"NUMOSKTOCMD;MYCHAN;SETXMCHAN",

    Define in ExecTBL.ini

    "SETXMCHAN","XMCHAN;$MYCHAN$"

    I've had problems too w/ OSKTOVAR/NUMOSKTOVAR followed by a command and the format above resolved it.

    You could probably do it all in one line too w/o an ExecTBL def, I think.

    B30,10,204,73,46,"NUMOSKTOCMD;MYCHAN;XMCHAN;$MYCHA N$",

      Sal R.,

      Thanks, that works great except that the station list doesn't update unless I leave the xm skin to another and then come back.

      Is there a command to force a refresh of the XM list. I believe I read somehwere that RELOADLIST only works with winamp playlists ir is winamp involved with this.

      Any way, my CHAN button work except for this.

      Thanks again.

      Regards,
      Jim

          Chuck and Sal_R,

          Both solutions work great EXCEPT neither causes the station list to change and highlight the new station until I leave the XM skin and return, like switch to menu.skin and then switch back to xm.skin

          I've attached my XM.skin if someone wishes to look at it an see if I've done something wrong.

          Regards,
          Jim

            You could do it like Sal_R has it but add this a little cheesy but it should work

            B30,10,204,73,46,"NUMOSKTOCMD;MYCHAN;SETXMCHAN",

            "SETXMCHAN","XMCHAN;$MYCHAN$||EXIT||XM"

              Chuck,

              To get it to work I had to put a WAIT;1 between the XMCHAN;$MYCHAN$ and the EXIT. Now while the screen has a minute flicker, it works and for the number of times I'll do this, it's just fine.

              Thanks to all.

              Jim
