  • voice recognition on resum

    Hi,

Heres a strange one, when i hibernate from road runner, when it resumes the voice recognition stops...

that is until i goto control panel and select speech (bear in mind i do not change any of the settings whatsoeva) but for some reason it just starts working again!?

This happens everytime. When the machine is restarted its fine, until of course i hibernate again

    Thanks

im using a program called Audiomatic, gives alot more options than the other voice recognition progs ie: it can run autoit scripts with voice commands etc.

      thanks

I was just thinking, as i clicked reply...

what if it just added the 'speech' utility from control panel, and add a button to launch/embed it?

        that should do the trick?

Run your voice app, then try hibernating without having RR running... my guess is that when you resume, it won't work (meaning it's not RR related).. if that's the case, my best suggestion would be to close and re-open the application on hibernate/resume.. to re-open is as easy as using a command line to execute it in Exectbl.ini:

          "ONRESUME","RUN;<PATH TO YOUR APP.EXE>"

To close it, you could try finding a command line and use the same as above with the "ONSUSPEND" event, or you can try to close it with the "CLOSEWINDOW" Command -- if this app has a window that can be closed to shut it down.. look up the command in skin commands.txt.

I honestly don't know.. but if you're going to use the Windows Speech, you're better off trying the voice plugin for RoadRunner or Navivoice -- both of which use/improve upon the windows speech (and possibly is what Audiomatic may do as well).

                Thanks

Im pretty sure your original plan will work by closing before hibernation.

                Thanks for the help Guino.

If I launch my applications from the LAUNCH folder, i use this with the E36 skin, all the programs i need load via the LAUCN skin, and I can cycle through the screens individually, without closing them

If i use those commands, is there a way of getting them to re-load so that they remain embeded the way they were before hibernation? rarher than just loading...

                  Cheers
