  • Any way to get a popup message?

I'm creating a skin that I can use for newbies to my system that will be a no-brainer jukebox. I'd like to be able to popup messages to them when a button is pressed that would say something like "command accepted!" or "playlist loading..." etc. Ideally, they wouldn't have to do anything to get rid of the message, it would just time out in a few seconds. I just want some way for them to know that the button press was accepted and not to just press it again. Is there any way to make a menu skin automatically exit via a timer? This could be the ticket!

I was considering a way to use the IDL command, but I don't want the command to be system wide, just on a particular menu.skin that I'd pop up. The TMR command looks doable but I can't find any examples or docs on how this might be done.

after whatever command your button is put "||menu;popup.skin||WAIT;2||EXIT"

then of course you have to make a popup.skin, with the background image dimensions whatever you want the size of the pop up to be. it will load in the middle of the screen by default. you can then get fancy with /xpos and /ypos to tell it where on the skin to load, but i wont get into that. thats just one search away....
