  • Flash Help sending a $var to RR

    Ok, I have been working on a flash project for a few days, and have it working perfectly! (First thing I have written in flash)

    I now need to get a variable from the flash program, to Road Runner.

    I have googled all over the forums and the net, and have come up empty handed. I found ways to send variables to HTML, PHP, even workaround for .bat files......

    I did find out how to send RR commands to flash:
    fscommand("MUTE", "");
    but still need to send a variable.......

    Here is the function where I am attempting to send the $var from flash to RR:

    cClip.onMouseUp = function()
    {
    selectedColor = bmd.getPixel(this._xmouse,this._ymouse);
    myHexColor = trace("0x"+pixelColor.toString(16)) //outputs : 0xffcc00
    fscommand("SETVAR;HexColor;'myHexColor';", "");
    }

    I have tried single quotes ' Double quotes ", a few variations on syntax and have had no luck. I am stuck.

    For someone that knows flash this probably looks so simple to do!

    I would assume you'd want something like this (But I don't know much about flash -- it's just basic coding standards):

    myHexColor = trace("RGB"+pixelColor.toString(16)); // myHexColor = RGBffcc00
    fscommand("SETVAR;HexColor;" + myHexColor, ""); // $HexColor$ = RGBffcc00

      Thanks Guino! That did the trick!

      This was for a color chooser that I FINALLY have done for my skin now.
