Do I need to have the weather updater turned on for the zip locations to work ? I noticed if I don't have the weather update, I get no information to display for the zip locations. But if I have the weather updater to 1 the zip locator will work, but it's slower then slow. I've deleted the ziplocator.dll and readded and everything else I can think of and I get different results everytime. My zips file is only 2.2 megs, so it's not that terrible large. My cpu usage is also around 20-35% all the time with spikes up to 85% and up. I was given a couple good ideas in the dx thread, but this is really getting me stumped. I plan on upgrading to the newest version of winamp, since I'm running 2.95 (or what ever it is to run the viso correctly) to see if that makes a difference. I guess I'll have to just live with what I get.

what "weather updater" are you talkin about? the only option needed to run the location labels is LOCALDATACAPTUREINTERVAL=???. Its options are 0(default, doesnt automatically acquire your location), 1 (min),2,5,10,15,30. Most people are using the 1 option, but if you have a slower computer then use a higher interval to save cpu cycles. You will also have a slower capture if you're using the bigger zips.dat file found in many threads. The original file is much smaller and will result in faster read times... with the drawback of having the data not quite perfect. To be sure that the location feature is the issue you can simply assign a button to run the LOCATE command. This is the manual method of acquiring the location labels. If running that command results in similar slowdowns then u know its related to the zips labels and maybe you need to increase your interval or perhaps just do it manually on a "need" basis

Yes, the weather update is also the zips/locaton interval, the setting of 1 is the amout of time between lookups. its has been mentioned that it takes some time after that to do the actuall lookup..

        Thanks

I figured it worked together thru trial and error, but I wanted to be sure.
