  • quick Songpos slider question

    hi,

    just a quickie...

is there any way to get a songpos slider to have more than the default 20 images... id like to have a full screen-width song pos something like the ipod classic one:

but to do this in RR it makes it too jumpy with only 20 positions.. id like one that just goes across pixel by pixel as required.

can it be done without flash?

    thanks,

    tim.

Not currently.. I thought about doing that, but it's just never got done because there are not enough layers to provide both the highlight AND the slider without external files. So I'd just have to make it work using a single outside Image to load over it -- it can be added without too much trouble, just never stopped to do it.

      Song Slider Position

There is one other alternative, it will not give the "accumulating progress bar", but will move pixel by pixel. Also with a couple of labels on the bar, you can show the current slider position, current time into the song, as well as the song length. It also works as a position selector, meaning you can tap anywhere on the bar to jump to that position in the song.

Here is a screen cap of the slider in my skin:

This is the slider code for the above:
      Code:
      S,20,483,765,25,20,486,765,20,H,,"VideoSLider.gif",013,"SONGPOS",
Of course you can use any image for the slider / pointer.

yep.. i know that.. thats how i normally do it.. but was just wondering if it could be done the other way...

if you get around to including code to do that Guino that would be great. Would it then just require one graphic and it would show only the required part of the image?

so say a songpos on the skin was 800px wide, the image would be 800 pixels wide, and if the song was half way along it would only draw 400px of the image? this would be better than compressing the 800px image to fit into 400 px..

anyways would be cool to have this option! and it only requires one graphic file, as opposed to 20 odd... it would actually be kinda cool to draw all progress bars like this..

The single image progressive slider is implemented for next update.

Awesome! I've always wanted to try something like the 'freeway' frontend had with RR. Have the song title scrolling left across a progress bar that is sweeping pixel by pixel to the right. Will keep my eye on this!
