  • Touch screen not working just with RR!

I use the BMV2 skin and have had this issue for a very long time. Occasionally my touchs creen and even me keyboard mouse will not send a command to RR using right click until I left click.

    Example and most frequent occurrence:
When I go to shut done my pc for the night I press exit on the touch screen it brings up the exit/shutdown/standby/cancel menu. When I go to press any of those keys the mouse moves over the key but nothing happens. I can go to right corner where the small touch screen mouse icon is that allows to toggle right and left click and press it to switch to left click then back and the buttons will work again.

I have an updated touch screen driver but it only happens in RR. Any thought as to what it could be it drives me crazy and I have used RR for a long time with several versions!!!

try dragging the finger across the screen when it happens, see if it draws anything ?
try disabling gestures to see if the problem occurs.

Dragging my finger brings up the red ball but wont change anything but if I come from the music screen to main I can somehow change the song playing if I move my finger around enough. I will try to disable gestures.

I disabled gestures and get no red ball now but it will still hang at times and require me to left click with either my keyboard that has mouse keys or the touch screen icon in order to get the buttons to work again. Any other thoughts?

If the red ball is coming up when gestured are enabled then the touchscreen is sending windows the information , and road runner is also getting this information.

I had a situation like this ages back where my bluetooth was using the same port as my touchscreen and it drove both of them mad and made the whole system so slow that it took minutes to do anything - try unplugging all other devices in order to test and have just the screen running to see how it works on its own.

I have tried disconnecting all other USB devices with no luck. Even tried a better shorter USB cable to the PC. This is very strange as it mainly occurs when I am trying to exit or shutdown. I have no clue!

do you have any app running simulating keys or anything like that ? RR only listens to button presses if they're the left button, so if there's any program modifying the mouse states (and sometimes even key states as they're treated in similar ways by the OS) this could interfere with the functionality.

The only thing I can think of would be the touchscreen driver that places a mouse looking icon on the bottom right corner of the screen to allow the touchscreen to change from left to right click. I have tried other touchscreen drivers with no change. I am just stumped!

well, if the skin you're using requires you to click over the area which is used by this "icon" from the touchscreen driver in order to bring the exit menu, chances are you're clicking it and that switches the mouse to "right" click and thus RR will not accept any further clicks until you click the icon again to switch it back to "left" click. You could try disabling that thing to see what happens.
