  • How to show a preview of a list if images

Is there a way to have an image show, when browsing a directory of images? I am trying to change my background chooser for the skin, and cant find a way to show the image in the list.

I tried the J tag, and that does not work.

Basically I have an SD list showing the $BACKGROUNDPATH$ images, and want to see a preview of the selected image in the list, to the left of the list.

Ja, you can also overlay a transparent MENU to see a complete preview of the skin.

        Thanks!

Thanks for the help! I was using the PICVIEWER.SKIN for this, and it did not let me set that up for its intended purpose.

The only drawback now is that you have to use the arrow keys, or select in the list. WIth the pic viewer you could use the arrow keys or another device to scroll the list and the image would update. Also the nice fade transitions are gone as well

I tried the overlay some time ago before RR worked with transparencies, and wrote a small flash file that overlays a transparent menu image, minus any background.

Yeah, haven't worked around that yet.

As for the fade transitions, guino is aware. I hope that it makes an update.

Fade transitions for custom indicators and file indicators will be in the next update.

As for a more generic update that works with everything.. also add a timer of 1 second like this:
            Code:
            "TIMER","SETVARBYCODE;imgfilename;LISTTEXT",<skinfilename>

I finished my new background.skin with Sal's code.

Here is my working example that is going to be released in shock v6

              In my background.skin

              Code:
              I01,536,110,247,168,"FILE;$backgroundpath$/$imgfilename$:a"
              Entry in ExecTBL.ini

              Code:
              "ONFILECLICK","SETVARBYCODE;imgfilename;LISTTEXT",background.skin
I am going to try replacing the "ONFILECLICK" with "TIMER" see how it works.

Also this may be a good time to bring up the fact that RRconfig writes background=xxx in rr.ini, while it should be written as backgroundpath=xxx I had to manually edit the rr.ini for the background variable to work correctly.

I, now, have both on the preview skin. Skin works as it should now w/ the iList "flicking."

I don't know why I didn't think of it before as that was how it was set up before I found the "ONFILECLICK" command.
