  • RR Media Plugin, Input needed

While working on the last feature and chatting with one of the top skinner's, they mentioned that they would like to see a feature like the one *cough* CF has. The feature is the unlimited/virtual playlists, or more simply put...everytime you load the playlist with something new from your media collection it save's both the list and current song and track time, so that you could click through the playlists and jump right back to where it was when you changed the playlist. And of course a button to delete the playlist too, as they would add up after a short time.

Is this a feature that you would like to see?? I really don't see the need for unlimited playlists (playlist history?) like the feature in CF. As you will already have a builtin 10 CD changer feature which operates fairly close to what this feature does, its just limited.

    Thanks...

Plugin will be released both with the release of DFX 3.0 and as a seperate plugin for skinners to use in their skins.

The feature sounds somewhat interesting, but I don't see a need for it. I definately wouldn't use it.

As long as we would have the ability to turn it off....or at least limit the amount it tracks in history(most recent 20 or something). I would have no use for a playlist history. I like the CD changer idea, that's why I use VOID as a skin sometimes. I also have my "remote wonder" programmed with girder to switch "CD's"/playlists.

Saving the song and location in the song might be useful. As in:
I'm listening to CD 1(playlist 1) and I switch to CD/playlist 2 because my wife wants to listen to her music....then when I switch back to CD/playlist 1 it would return to the previous song and location in the song. Might be handy, but certainly not required. This would be more playlist to playlist and not every time a song is added.

Correction...I take back what I said, and being so, the release will contain this feature...

It will remember the last 10 pl changes, via pl being changed by the plugin..

And the thanks for showing of the idea, goes to LS...
