Is there a good recommendation of a unit to use with Roadrunner....preferably Radio/TV in the same package. I definitely want something with decent reception, so if that means splitting them up, it's fine.

i wish i had an answer. i have a great TV tuner, but i have no idea how to interface it with RR. mine is an OnAir USB HDTV, and i like it. as for radio, my silabs puts out pretty well and from what ive heard does a good job while on the go in the car. cant tell ya much more yet, sry

Your Silabs (USB or serial?) integrates into Roadrunner?

For radio, look on the HD Radio Plugin. The unit is cheap on e-bay ($40) and works exellent with Road Runner. For TV, well I sure don't need it in car.

I think I'm going to purchase one of these. This unit will just plug-n-play without any special instruction?

an old cinergy 600 works like a charm for me (FM+analog TV) fully supported by RR

Yes SIR. You will need Mitch's cable and then plug and play away.

you have to configure RR a little bit to integrate the HD radio...but yeah...its basically Plug n Play...and use your stock antenna...dont go buying a new antenna. In my Civic, i have the back window antenna, and it works great...no reception issues aside from 97X and their horrible signal to begin with in my area

Mitch (the guy who makes the cables) is a great guy and knows his ****...dont buy anything else that claims it works...only buy from him\

edit: also...for the TV...its illegal in most if not all states to have "moving pictures" viewable by the driver while driving...so dont get TV unless you tailgate a lot...lol

motionlock doesnt know if you're moving unless you have GPS or you have some sort of sensor to tell it you're in drive...

i could still watch movies in mine while driving until i got GPS...

But the radio itself is just a USB plugin...What is the function of the cable?

you take your HD Radio, plug in the wires correctly (BLACK=ground, RED=constant 12v, YELLOW=remote switch to turn it on) and then you take one end of mitche's cable, plug that into the unit. take the other end and put it in your RS232 port (SERIAL)...then take your RCA Audio output and put that into your soundcards input...then you run it (hopefully by now you've also plugged in your antenna)
