  • How to Config RoadRunner?

Hi guys sorry if this has already been posted but I've been searching for days and haven't found anything...
I am currently running iGuidance with road runner and using Xport.
using Xport I've shared com port 3 to 4 and 5..
my iGuidance reads com 4 fine but how can I get road runner to read com 5? is there a file or something that I have to edit?
I've been looking around and read post after post but no one says how to get roadrunner to read a com port.
    please help.
    and thank you.

    Those dang noobers.

Have you looked around in the RR Config program? I'm pretty sure the setting is in there...

Well if you can't find it in rr config, you can change it in rr.ini file. If it's a fresh install, it'll show up as gpsport=0.

EDIT: Tho I'm sure under the GPS section in the config program, there's a gps port setting there. I'm sure of it. Unless they've changed the config proggy recently.

          path to rr.ini on a typical install is C:\Program Files\Road Runner\rr.ini

          Sorry, shoulda mentioned earlier.

            and thank you.
First, start Xport. Now set the input com port to the port of your GPS receiver.
Next, In the lower part of Xport, Check "Enable Service" then, under OUTPUT set up the virtual com ports you would like to use ( 4 and 5 ).
Now Put the 4 in Road Runner's GPS config, and 5 in your GPS program. So now your Receivers com port is split into two virtual ports. Hope this helps

Actually, that one was a first for me. Usually it's more along the lines of skins and screen config and junk. I'm dying to find out why you don't have GPS options in your config program though...

How weird. I have issues with the rr config proggy from time to time, but nothing like that. Usually my issue is it just won't run.

I get that to, been using it for a few month already. but it's one off the best programs I've used so far for CarPc.. it as alot off support, and alot off new stuff all the time,
                      so can't complain.

Xport is another program that splits your gps signal from your device,
basically it adds a virtual com port, as many as you need,

so origanal com port is say 5
run xport and add 2 more com prts 2 and 3 say.
now in rrconfig set gps com port to 3
and in iguidence set com port to 2

now rr and ig are both getting gps signal.
