  • RR 04-01-09 ... Never to late.. (GET HOT FIX)

    This release's content:

    Added
-All ONxxx Events now passed to extension plug-inís, read only fashion.
-New internal error message screen that requires no extra skinning ( Say bye-bye to the MJSG_MessageBox.skin )
-KeepLoaded screen ini setting ( keeploaded=xx.skin, with preference to use the below skin file option )
    -/KEEPLOADED skin parameter
-Disable option for the built-in Phidgets support (Extension Plug-in To Be Released latter)
    - >, >=, <, <= Funcs to the Eval command
-Real HORM support ( "hormdrive" RR.ini setting )
    -Preload dynamic command, Preload;xx.skin
    -Unload dynamic command, Unload;xx.skin
    -ReloadExectbl command, reloads both ExecTBL.ini files ( RR's & Skin's w/o reloading screens )
-Extension plug-in Initialize method, passes in plug-in's computed data storage path
-Internal File Manager (Legacy / Profile Modes), to properly run under vista
-Screen Count label, shows total screens in memory

    Improved
-Preload screen setting(Preload=xx.skin) can be per skin via the skin.ini
    -Internal ExecTbl Lookup, more Streamlined/efficient
-Audio playback resuming when Windows being shut down & RR still running
-Internal debugging log events, started sooner and more info

    Fixed
-EQ Preset option didn't exclude all but EQ
-Winampclass setting, was being overwritten with default
-Random Hold Commands being fired, when button/exec label was not held down
-/DISCARDABLE screen parameter fixed (lets hope for the last time)
-Globally loaded plugins have access to skin vars again
-RR application close (on vista systems)

    Removed
-hibernatereload setting (a often mis-understood setting)

    Updated
-SkinEditor v.76, includes new cmds and /keep option
    -Config

Having 17 of the above mentions as part of my contributions, we (Guino, Mitchjs & Myself, aka RR Coding Team) decided to have me do the
official release this month to help show how much behind the scene's work & effort I put in to this awesome project, that some may not be
fully aware of. This also does not include the upkeep on the skin editor, config and the skin tool apps.

Guino's been really busy lately but has been working on adding some requested features that will be added for release when time deemed right.
Mitchjs has also been busier than normal with day to day events.

    Notes:
-Thanks...in the end goes to Guino, for without him, this project would cease to exist.
-It is RECOMMENDED to always use the Installer to update the software, it has the newest config and skin tools included.

As always you can download it for FREE HERE

Found a bug, I did a fresh install of the new version listed here.. It seems when you click and hold on the main menu (to get the the dynamic menu selection) it says that its missing atrist.bmp and music.bmp in the file app_chooser.skin I fixed it by removing the 2 files from the top of the app_chooser.skin

                Code:
                hormdrive=x		- were x = drive letter, example: hormdrive=E
tells RR that HORM mode is active, and where to save HORM data
                			  MUST BE A USB DRIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!
its a small amount of data, a USB STICK DRIVE WILL DO
Why can't I use an unprotected partition ?

very technical reasons.... (a partition MUST BE LOCKABLE for exclusive access to dismount it... never could be done with a fixed drive)

use a small usb stick drive

actually a good instruction document needs to be made up for HORM
if u want to use HORM, u really need to understand it, and what EXACTLY RR will do for you
                  SAL R. can help
                  -Thanks

Um...I have one harddisk with two partitions. Partition 1 is the system partition, which is protected. Partition 2 contains music and videos and is unprotected. I don't see why RR can't save the information there.

Also, I don't know why I should dismount a partition.

Excellent news on the new release. Thanks guys. Can we have some more details on how the HORM support works please?

Say I have RR running on my system drive which is protected by EWF, I'm assuming the HORM support means RR is still able to save resume data etc to a separate drive? is that correct? Would it cover stuff like music playback position for an external player?

                      Thanks.

The drive (aka volume) needs to be able to be locked AND dismounted before setting the HORM point to prevent the volume from being write cached to the hibernate file. If not, any changes to data on the drive will be lost and/or corrupt the drive because the data on the drive does not match what is in the cache.

Windows has a handle on fixed drives (protected and unprotected) that prevents it from being locked and dismounted. Hence, the need to use a usb flash drive to save RR resume data. An external usb harddrive doesn't work either. Apparently, windows treats it like a fixed hard drive and can't be locked, as well.

If RR can resume playback normally using your external player (i assume it's not winamp) on close/open of RR, then theoritcally, it can work just fine w/ HORM RR IF the resume information is being saved in the RR directory in an ini file. The RR resume data is saved onto the hormdrive specified in rr.ini.
