  • Why isn't my music track info right?

    Hi,
When using RR, my music track info is incorrect.
The track name appears under artist leaving all other field blank.

I have my music organised using itunes.

Is this something to do with winamp?
If so, how can I fix this?

    Thanks
    JM

RR doesn't use the same tags that itunes does, so, your going to have to reorganize your music, by changing the ID3 tags, to display the correct info-- there have been a couple of posts and front ends made for the easiest way to do this.

The tags come up in media player as well, not just iTunes.
I'll try and find the posts, thanks

RR only reads OGG, WMA and MP3 Tags (but only version 1.X, 2.2 and 2.3) -- if you use mp3 tags version 2.4 or another file extension (i.e. AAC) then RR is not going to read the tags.

          all my music is MP3's.
I found a program called tag&rename. I think I used it correctly but it still hasn't worked. I'm still working on it so it may do . I'll keep ya posted.

You may want to verify that you have configured RR to use ID3 tags correctly or it won't use the tags even if they're there.

o god, I feel like an idiot. Yes that was infact my problem, thanks guino.

Just a general question now, what's the difference between ID3 V1 + 2 tags? and which would be the best setting to use?

              Thanks alot

that highly depends on how accurate your tags are. If you're a slob and don't keep it all nice and neat, I'd suggest Mix V2+V1 as it would fill in the data as much as it can with whatever data it finds. If your tag data is all perfectly organized, I'd suggest using V2 only.
