  • Been absent for a year or so, what is Riderunner?

    What is RideRunner?

How does it relate to RoadRunner?

I have a bunch of skins, support programs, and other such stuff, will they work with RideRunner?

Do RideRunner and RoadRunner both run on XP? Vista?

Can someone sort this for me so I can get back to work on getting my car system built and installed.

    Regards,
    Jim

No one on here is your tech support to "sort" things for you. Look at at least some of the stickied posts and a couple of the threads, and maybe you'll find your answers. If not, feel free to come back with some more specific questions...

The link was just what I needed and sorry for the mis-understanding, as I was not looking for tech support. I will do most of that myself as I re-integrate my things with RideRunner as need be.

      Jim

No problem -- a lot of the plugins have been updated lately, but if you have any issues integrating some of the older plugins/skins, some others may have already gone through those growing pains in the other subforums.

Just a suggestion: when everything is working fine on your installation with RoadRunner, stay with it.
RideRunner shows a nag screen after 4 month, and you have to update to the newest version to get rid of it.

That said, RideRunner offers alot of new features, and most of the regular plugins and skins have been updated to work with it.

Anyone want to elaborate on the purpose for the "nag screen"?

Doesn't seem too user friendly nor consistent with what Guino says in the above linked to post.

That said, anyone figure out how to turn off the "nag screen" or is this "feature" more annoying than that?

            Regards,
            Jim

i think there is a website you can go to, to turn off the nag screen. go to paypal.com and let that place take a wad of cash out of your bank account- that should stop the nag screen i think

You could paypal me some money and I will tell you all about the nag screen...
Or you could search the forums your self and find out the only way to turn it off is to just download the new version every 4 months. It is annoying I agree and it would be nice if we could pay a fee or something to just remove it. But guess what, aint happenin'.

There is no legit way to remove the nag screen. There has been much discussion about it, and it is not open to debate. Either live with it and upgrade every 4 months to break your perfect working setup, or don't use it.

RoadRunner is an open source application loved by the community but no longer supported even though it still works in a closed environment.

RideRunner is its mutated brother which is closed source, works with all legacy RoadRunner code but forces you to update every 4 months or feel the wrath of a nag screen every time you turn it on. And it's generally hated by the community.....mostly myself and Tidder as much as I can tell.

OH really?!?!?!? good thing I kept my older version.

Say wasn't Mitch releasing a version of Road runner that had his bits added to it at one point?
