  • RJS ALPS sirius resume issue

I have the USB ALPS1 Sirius setup. When it resumes there's no sound, in addition, at the top of the screen where the channel number and program description are displayed it will display the same channel number as before hibernation, but the description for channel one is displayed. The signal strength bar is stuck at whatever it was when it hibernated, I can scroll the channel list but I can't change the channel. I have to exit and restart RR to get it all to work properly again. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    is it wired right???!!
    prob not

it has to be on when the PC is ON

which is usually NOT to the accessory position in the KEY
    -Thanks

It gets it's power from the same relay that turns the PC on, they both get their power turned on and off at the same time. The relay is connected to the RUN side of the ignition switch and has constant power when the key is in any position except OFF. There's a timer on the relay that gives the PC enough time to shut itself down so the ALPS1 gets power as soon as the PC gets power and it has power for a little while after the PC is done hibernating. Should I just wire the ALPS1 to be always on?

it has to be on when the pc is ON
so... if its on that timer, its ok...
but make sure... if it shuts off duing the hibernation process, most likely it will cause communication to fail...

also make sure RR is HibernationAware

i would turn on sirius debugging, and post me a debug.txt file
from a session of a complete hibernation cycle
        -Thanks

How do I turn on sirius debugging and where would I find the resulting txt file? I searched and didn't have much luck.

use RRCONFIG... or manually edit rr.ini

there is debugging options on page 4

turn it on, fresh, and sirius
            -Thanks

There's a debug option in RRConfig, just check it+save, run RR do whatever and check the folder for the log files.

just attach the files next time
there is NOTHING of use in what u posted...

there is no hibernation or resume...
                  just a startup

and from that its working fine
                  -Thanks

Here's another try. i started up RR, started sirus and it played. At appx 8:06 I hibernated and as soon as it shut down I restarted it and it resumed. When it resumed it was still on the sirius screen and the time was 8:08 but srius was locked up as described above again. You can see in the log that there's a gap in time between these 2 lines-

10/15/2009 8:06:13 PM: Leave Exec: False, sirius.skin, ONSONGSTART, False
                    10/15/2009 8:07:49 PM: WM_POWERBROADCAST: wParam=6

                    That's when it was hibernating.

I also attached my rr.ini file
please look at the attached and see if you can help.

                    Thanks

there is NO hibernation at all happing... RR is unaware the machine is going into hibernation

10/15/2009 8:06:13 PM: Que Exec: True, sirius.skin, "ONSONGSTART", False
10/15/2009 8:06:13 PM: Leave Exec: False, sirius.skin, ONSONGSTART, False

                        10/15/2009 8:07:49 PM: WM_POWERBROADCAST: wParam=PBT_APMRESUMEAUTOMATIC

if u notice, 8:07:49 is a RESUME... but it never was told about the hibernation

solve that, and u solve your problem!
