  • Navit in RR?

Has anyone tried Navit embedded into RideRunner?

It seems to me that Navit is picking up a lot of steam lately, lookss to be the best option for linux and mobile phones as well. I was wondering if anyone else was thinking of giving it a try, you know since it's free and all. I've read postings about how its not very accurate, but did I mention it's free? If a person wanted a more robust solution, they could always step up and purchase one of the commercial products.

I realize its usually the skin developers who decide which navigation program they wish to fully support. We know there are limitations of one program vs. another, and changes in new releases, that usually need addressed, but I feel it would be beneficial for the Ride Runner community to support a free navigation solution that also happens to be open source.
Being able to talk to RR and other plug ins would be a major plus.

Since I am not one of the programmers in the community that performs magic on what seems like a daily basis, I cannot offer more than my ideas and support, well, maybe a donation here or there, but it seems like this is something that should be worked on.

Sorry for the ranting, I'm gonna see if I can get it to work.
TruckPC - gutted, being used for test setup
BoatPC - All in 1 in cuddy, N7 using VNC on dash, RR

Navit is coming along nicely, but still (for me anyway) not usable on a day to day basis. I'll be interested to see how you fare on this.

    Try RevFE
The best resurrected frontend I've ever used, period.
