  • 10 disk virtual changer question

I just had to reinstall everything on my carpc and got everything working except the 10 disk changer... I cant for the life of me remember what I did last time to make it work.. I have 5 different lists that are in playlist format that used to be the names of the disks before I had to reformat my drive and now that I have everything reinstalled I dont know where to put them so the changer will recognize them.. Can someone point me in the right direction here? I still have all of the "disks" saved with all the songs in each one I just dont know where to put them or if they need to be in a different format for the disk changer to work.. RRmedia is installed and turned on and im using dfx4. Thanks.

If you are using the DFX skin, then go into playlist manager. Once in there, select the Playlist that you want from the list, and click the "PL to Disk" button, you will get a pop-up asking what disk that you want the playlist added to or to replace the disk contents with the playlist.

John, if you're playing one of the virtual disks, can it automatically repeat like a regular playlist can? I'm assuming no since I can't get it to work.

John, I tried doing that and it acts like its taking it to that disk number but then if I go back to the changer menu it still doesnt show up in there all the disk #'s are blank still

Yes, you just need to have repeat on. All RRMedia does when you load a disk is, it makes a playlist using that disks contents and then tells RR to play it. Should be small oval circle arrow in the top left area of the screens.

If after you do that, and restart RR, do then they show up?

I extremely need to get out a newer version, really really hard to debug old one. Speaking of debug logs...how about turning on RR's and then try this and attach (not paste) the log..

ill give that a try too.. I actually just uninstalled rr completely because I still had the 07 version in a seperate directory and figured I should just do a fresh install in just one directory where its supposed to be and reinstall rrmedia into it and see if that works. I think I tried restarting it and it still came up with no disks but im not 100% sure at this point if I did the restart after trying that or not so once I get it reinstalled ill give it a shot with the debugger on and see what it does

I just cant win with this... ok I reinstalled RR completely and the disk changer worked but then I couldnt get Iguidance to embed properly... so I copied my old roadrunner directory over the new one and then iguidance embeded properly but the disk changer wouldnt work again.. lol.. so.. im back to square one again.. im gonna reinstall it again so everything will be the updated version again and the disk changer should work so any ideas on what I can check as to why iguidance wouldnt want to embed? im guessing its gotta be a simple setting im missing somewhere

<edit> just reinstalled again and looks like its finally cooperating.. GPS is embedding properly AND the disk changer is actually working right too . Now im gonna download those new flash clocks to put on the menu page.. Thanks yall
