  • I have a problem with OSKTOVAR

    Can someone tell me why this doesn't work?

    Code:
    B30,3,110,75,36,"OSKTOVAR;RRGS_SEARCH1||OSKTOVAR;RRGS_SEARCH2||RRGS_GetDirections;$RRGS_SEARCH1$;$RRGS_SEARCH2$","Search"
    Both variables exist.

    What happens is that the first OSK appears but RR doesn't wait for ENTER instead it executes the rest of the commands with the second OSK not appearing.

    RRGS_GetDirections is a command processed by a plug-in I'm writing.

    Regards,
    Jim

    You need to use the "OSKTOCMD". More like this..

    "OSKTOCMD;RRGS_SEARCH1;RRGS_SEARCHCONT1"

    Then, your plugin process the "RRGS_SEARCHCONT1", which then issues the second "OSKTOCMD" instance like:

    "OSKTOCMD;RRGS_SEARCH2;RRGS_SEARCH2CONT"

    Then, from there you can process your "RRGS_GetDirections" cmd..

      What I would do instead is something like I did in the RREarth skin..

      Put a label "EXEC;OSKTOVAR;RRGS_SEARCH1||=$RRGS_SEARCH1$" and another one "EXEC;OSKTOVAR;RRGS_SEARCH2||=$RRGS_SEARCH2$" on the screen, this make them clickable and visible, so the user can edit the 1st var and/or 2nd var only when desired (allowing to change just what needs to be changed -- at the desired pace), then just have a "search" button with the code "RRGS_GetDirections;$RRGS_SEARCH1$;$RRGS_SEARC H2$" -- to just perform the search using the previously set parameters.

          With such confusion comes great power, just like girder. Extremely, complex and confusing at first but once ya figure it out.....nothing can hold it back, only your imagination.

                If only there were a size tag so people's signatures wouldn't be 10 times as long as their posts. :v
