  • HORM drive, EWF and regular restart vs hibernate

Hi guys I love the HORM drive option. I'm using EWF and when hibernating this still allows me to have music resume correctly.

Unfortunately I have had to stop using hibernate as quite often my display isn't re-initialised correctly. This is a problem with the VIA graphics drivers (I'm using a VIA Epia MII 12000 motherboard).

Is it possible to use the HORM drive settings to enable to to resume music properly when I'm simply shutting down rather than hibernating? I have the HORM drive set up but when I restart Ride Runner will always start playing the track that was set when EWF was enabled.

    Many thanks!

to use HORM, you dont hibernate.... simply shutdown...
course RR has to know that u shutdown...

    try reviewing your DEBUG.txt

I enabled debug and my file is attached. I've also attached debug_shutdown.txt that appeared in the Horm directory on my flash drive

I can see that resume.ini rrpl.m3u8 and tagcache.ini are being updated correctly on my flash drive (Horm/Cache dir). However these files also exist in the RideRunner install dir where they are not getting updated (or perhaps they are being updated but then getting flattened on reboot due to EWF?)

Any other details I can provide let me know.

        Thanks.

As an extra note if I disable EWF resume functions correctly.

there is nothing of any use in either file...

EWF has to ben enabled, and HORM enabled

when u boot the system, it will boot everytime the same way, the same way you made the HORM image....

when u do a shutdown, RR will see that you have HORM Drive and copy files to it

then when u RESTART, it acts like a Resume, and RR sees the HORM Drive, and copies the files back to RR directories... and resumes

            that simple

there is nothing in your debug.txt to show any horm involved
somewhere is some help on how to do HORM
its really simple once you set up

since, u say u see files on the HORM drive... thats good RR knew to copy them there

remember u dont hibernate, u shutdown!!!!

only do hibernate once from inside RR too, makes it really easy
i just set rr up, clear the PL, sit at the menu then type
            "HIBERNATE" (with the quotes)
and system will make my HORM image

then restart... and u should come right back to where u where
now load some songs in PL
and shutdown (i would do it from inside RR)
            then restart
and you should come back with those songs
            -Thanks

I had all this working but like you I had to stop using HORM because the video doesn't init properly when I added the 2nd display. I am also using a VIA board. Really sucks. Thinking its time to upgrade the board to something faster.
