    RideRunner SDK Examples

When you install RR, make sure you let it install the extension examples, (it will ask when installing). Then look in:

    C:\Program Files\RideRunner\RRExtension Plugin Examples\

There are examples in VB6, .net and C#.

If you are working with AutoIt, you can access RR's SDK like this example script:

    PHP Code:

    $rr
    ObjCreate("RoadRunner.sdk")
    $rr.Execute("Audio")
    $TrackNumber=$rr.getinfo("=$TRACKNUMBER$"
The first line opens communication with RR. (Only needs done once at the top of your script)
The second line tells RR to go to the Audio screen
The third line gets the current track number and saves it in a variable

In the 2nd line, any commands that RR understands can be done. Such as "SetVar;MyVar;My Test Text" Sets the variable $MyVar$ in RR with "My Test Text"

Have a look in the RideRunner\Documentation\SkinCommands.txt for an extensive list of commands, labels, setting variables ect.

Lastly, fire up the SkinTool in the RR directory. It is a nice GUI that will let you send commands to RR, and get information from RR, and is a, indispensable testing tool.

          Thanks
assuming you put the .dll in the plugins directory
          and regasmed it

thats enough info to have you solve it
          -Thanks

            Thanks
Compiled in .net or VB6? I have not made the switch to .net yet, so not sure how much help I can be there.

As Mitch mentioned, make sure the .dll is in the plugins dir, and it is registered.

When you say it "won't show in rr", I am not sure what you mean. You have to fire one of the test commands to get it to do something. If you mean it is not showing in the plugin manager, then it is definitely in the wrong folder and/or not registered.

Till you can get things moved to the plugin, you can do some testing with the exec.exe in the RR folder. Simply run that exe with command line options to pass the info to rr.

            For Instance:

            Exec.exe Audio

That line in a .bat file will send the "Audio" command to RR. It is good for testing, but far better to get the code into a plugin than to run an .exe for every single command, and the fact that it is one-way communication as well.

Thanks for you help. We decided to make a standalone exacutable at this time. I would really love to get a direct plugin for this scanner.
