How can I change the contents of the "LABEL" depending on the active source?
I want to show the Frequency of the radio when the Radio is the active source or the song title when Audio is the acvtive source. I have looked at the prgramming commands like ByVar but I'm confused as to how to use them.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, I found this in the suggested file (I completely missed that file, thanks for the pointer).

      "ACTIVESOURCEID" - returns 1 = HD Radio, 2 = Radio, 3 = XM Radio, 4 = Sirius Radio, 5 = Audio(mp3), 6 = Video, 7 = DVD, 8 = TV

      "BYVAR;ACTIVESOURCEID;=<<=Title<<=Title<<=Channel< <=Channel<<=Album<<=Title"

Now let's see if I understood it.

When the activesourceid=1 then the label will show the "Title"
When the activesourceid=2 then the label will show the "Title"
When the activesourceid=3 then the label will show the "Channel"
      ...
      ...
When the activesourceid=6 then the label will show the "Title"

As the Byvar command is now, it will only change the label for the first 6 activesourceid's and will omit 7 & 8 ?

and how can you omit the display of a label ? Do you just do "<<<<"

there is actually 9 active sources now , all you do is add after the last "TITE" add <<=Title<<=Title

and so on each << is a value fron the var "Activesource"

var's are a big friend in RR codeing

and if you omit the code between two consecutive "<<" then it will not show the label for that activesource ?

yes , but don't remove the << for that value , just leave <<=Title<<= <<=Title

One more question, is it possible also to the change font size of the label depending on the activesouceid ?
What I'm looking to do is have a label show the title (scrolling in the label) of a song when in audio source and the same label to show the frequency (centered in the label) of the radio but with a bigger font when in the radio source

no afraid not , you will have to use 2 labels, font size can be changed , but not clean for this idea , to change the font you will have to reload the scr on every source change , maybe even a reloadskin , very messy,,,,,

Ohhh! OK. So all I have to do is define 2 labels, one for the Radio source and one for the Audio source. Each label will have it own font and depending on the activesourceid the correct label will be shown. Maybe I can use the "showlabel" command also.

I hope the OP doesnt mind the intrusion but i believe his questions are answered and i have a question related to the activesource element as well. Does anyone have a "Source" button code available that will toggle through the available sources each time the button is clicked. Something like the Source button on most head units. If you wouldnt mind sharing i'd sure appreciate it.

I figured as much thats why i'm asking for someone to gimme the code lol. it'd actually be far easier for me to create a plugin to handle it rather than figure out the RR button code for it!
