  • RideRunner slow to load rrpl.m3u8 with Winamp?

    Was going to customize some of the screens in eLite, so instead of doing it on my netbook, I decided to do it on my desktop, which has loads of screen space. In doing so, I've noticed that it looks like when winamp loads the rrpl.m3u8, it's loading one line at a time, which is slow going. For comparisons sake, I created a 678 song playlist in winamp, saved it, cleared and then reloaded it, which happens pretty much instantaneously. Loading RideRunner, which loads the rrpl.m3u8 with the same 678 songs takes 6 seconds, and obviously, the more songs, the longer it takes. I tried reading through all the old threads about the rrpl, but couldn't see any reason for RideRunner acting this way. Is it supposed to do this? Is there a way to fix this?

    That is the Way RR has been since the beginning unfortunately. RR has to read each song into the playlist, to create the playlist in RR. I have personally just made smaller playlists, and more of them. Not the best solution, but the only one there is really.

      well.. it depends also on settings on winamp...
      titles-> metadata...
      1st option will take longest

      also 678 song, 6 seconds is way to long...

      i just made one with 630 songs, and it was for sure < 2 seconds

      attach a play list please with 678 songs, and since u provide no info in your post...
      im gonna say make sure you are using latest RideRunner

          Well, first thing i can tell you is that your NOT supposed to be using the Lite version of WA. I don't know if that could be part of it but if not FYI.
