  • Max Speed Attenuation Question

    I was wondering if there was a way to get the GPS-controlled Volume to max out at a certain percentage (below 100%) and stay there once it hits the max speed.

    I have it set up right now as:
    Min Speed: 0 --> Volume: 30%
    Max Speed: 70 --> Volume: 70%

    The problem is that the Max volume seems to just scale with my speed, even past 70mph. If I'm going 85mph, the Volume will go up to ~80%.

    The road noise in my car doesn't really increase that much between 60 and 80mph, so I'd like to be able to have the volume stay at 70% once I get up there. Is there a way to get RR to do this?

    Thanks!

    May be, you can use this RR command with the label GPSSPDN:
    Code:
    "IFVAR" - simple variable compare (equals or not equals only and string contains)
    						ex. "IFVAR;myvar=5;DOTRUE<<DOFALSE"
    						if myvar = 5 then "DOTRUE" would execute, else "DOFALSE"
    						ex. "IFVAR;myvar<>1;DOTRUE<<DOFALSE"
    						if myvar <> 1 then "DOTRUE" would execute, else "DOFALSE"
    						ex. "IFVAR;MYVAR~#;TRUECODE<<FALSECODE"
    						if MYVAR contains a "#" then "TRUECODE" else "FALSECODE"
    IFVAR;GPSSPD=0;SETVOL;Player;30<<SETVOL;Player;70
    But the RRextended plugin can certainly make a better setup.

      That IS the way it is supposed to work. Which of the modes did you set it to? I personally use the linear, but I also have mine setup in a non std way to get it work how I want it to work and works as such.

        I have it set to Linear, controlling the main volume line.

        I'll recheck it when I get home, but in the 3+ years I've been using RR, it has always gone past the Max volume for me.

          I checked this on the way home today and did find that it just blows right past the max. I could check the code and see why it goes over...

            some settings in RRconfig arnt 100% right for this... that might be related...

            these are the known settings...

            [Native GPS - Speed Controlled Volume]
            SpeedAtt=False
            SpeedAttMute=True
            SpeedAttMaxStep=100
            SpeedAttMode=line
            SpeedAttVolZero=70
            SpeedAttSpeedA=0
            SpeedAttSpeedB=70
            SpeedAttVolA=50
            SpeedAttVolB=100
            SpeedAttGainAt50mph=5
            -Thanks

              Here's what my rr.ini says under the GPS Volume settings:

              speedatt=true
              speedattmute=true
              speedattunit=mph
              speedattmode=line
              speedattvola=30
              speedattvolb=75
              speedattspeeda=0
              speedattspeedb=75
              speedattmaxstep=10

              I don't see "SpeedAttVolZero" or "SpeedAttGainAt50mph" anywhere. Could that be the problem?
