  • Winamp Line In Plugin no option to configure

I've used Winamps Line In for years in conjunction with HD Radio. After a new install and latest winamp on W-7 X86 the line in plugin has no option to configure it. Any idea what happened to this feature?

Windows 7 has different architecture for audio input/recording/mixing - RR supports both new and old for controlling the volumes but some winamp plugins may not. Having said that, there's a good chance you can make it work by messing with the audio settings. Also windows 7 has a "listen" function that does exactly the same as the line in plugin (except built in) you'd only have to set it up in control panel and anytime the radio turned on it would already sound thru the speakers.

The reason I liked the line in plugin was it "shut off" the audio to the line when switched. I have an Asus Xonar D1 audio card and in the Xonar software has a toggle for "listen" on the line in. The issue is the toggle for listen has to be manually toggled and when I switch from HD radio back to music I still get slight hiss from the line in. If I pause an MP3 I really hear the hiss/noise from the monitored line in. Ill have to dig deeper into windows 7 audio settings I suppose. Thanks.

My experience is that some win7 drivers don't offer the same features as the drivers for XP - it's reallly a manufacturer thing, but sometimes you just have to mess with it till you find how to enable things.

make sure you have manufactures drivers installed
the winamp line in plugin works fine with win7
do NOT use the listen function in the control panel, its not ment for use outside the control panel

Sorry I didn't get a notification there was another response. I was referring to the built in one I see with the default install of the latest build of winamp.

                http://home.hccnet.nl/th.v.d.gronde/...WA2/index.html

shame he isnt developing it anymore, but it still works...

the built in one, i havent tried in years, prob even less developed!
for sure not as flexible as jaspers's, id consider using this
advanced, one must understand it before using it
