  • Plugins and programming languages?

A buddy of mine graduated recently with an engineering degree and he really wants to do some programming. I was telling him about some of my needs in plugins for these FE's for the CarPC and he was asking what kind of programming languages they were using. So I'm asking you guys? What programming languages does he need to be familiar with?

Plugins can be in old vb6, vb .net, C# or at least those are the ones that we have examples of when that option (RRExtension Plugin Examples ) is installed during RR's install and found in RR's root program files folder
    RideRunner...The #1 FE, PERIOD.

    Current Project: DFXVoice [v1.0 Released]
    Next in line: RRMedia v2.0

Ok, trying to see if he can create a plugin that either interfaces with AudioMulch and RubberFilter or incorporates crossover features directly into RR via a plugin. I'd love to be able to control all that inside RR instead of separate programs. But I'm not sure if it's something he could accomplish.

        AudioMulch control is easy!!!

        Audiomulch supports MIDI control

        set up midi yoke
use sendmidi.exe from Div's MIDI Utilities

i already did some nice work for another forum member, where we recall different presets in audiomulch, with a simple cmd line "Run;sendmidi.exe..."
we can control just about anything

you do have to have a good understanding of audiomulch...im a quick learner
        -Thanks

oh if you want to make a rr plugin, its a great idea

its just win32 api midiOutOpen, midiOutShortMsg,midiOutClose

easy to do in vb6, or c#, or really anything...

once midi yoke is going, its just send midi command, and audiomulch can see it
          -Thanks

Hmm, might have to look into that. The only thing is I'm not sure you could adjust the filters and what not through that could you?

you can do just about anything in audiomulch... just see if it has a midi... the built in filters abosolulty have midi control... look at the automate
              section for parameter control
              -Thanks

Well I'm not using the built in filters I'm using a VST Plugin for filters called RubberFilter. But I'll give it a look.

most of not all vst filters support midi control, and i had a hunch, but your post was vague

                  specifics!!!

but not in the post talking about adjusting
anyway.. im not a audiomulch expert, but i just installed that one
and sure it has plenty of midi control

Now that looks really nice. See i'd like a screen in RR that looks just like that and be able to do all the tweaking right there in RR.
