  • RR Mixer, second sound card

My goal is to have a volume control on the mobilephone screen, and possibly even on the mobilecall popup that will allow you to change the volume of the second sound card.
For me the phone microphone and output route through the Andrea sound card and merge in with the main line going to the amp. All other audio comes from the main laptop sound and joins the main audio line to the amp.

My problem is skinning the button for the Andrea - what would the button command look like? I doubt this would work, but to help illustrate what I want to do.
    vol+;andreamicrophone; rather than vol+;microphone;
    vol+;andreawave; rather than vol+;wave;

Would this also work for a slider? I've got "wave" as a slider, and "vol;microphone", but not sure whether the microphone works.

I've got the 2 sound cards working, and the Andrea is setup as the Windows default for voice, but using the laptop as the main audio output.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    OS?

my 1st thought is no, this is not going to work

you can view debug.txt to see a list of mixer points rr can control

if not in there, no control

and OS makes a difference, hopefully you on a modern OS (aka not XP)

      Okay.. booo
I am running XP - but if there is a way for it to work in Win7, I will install that.

As simple as it is, I never thought to check debug.. will do that later (when the pc is back in the car)

        i still say "no"

see, what is "Andrea microphone", is it just a mic plugged into sound cards mic input
or is it some audio device

also.. there is limitation, that RR only controls the LINES on the primary mixer
(i can never rememer all the time what rr can/cant do.... it does sooo much)

also... remember there are 2 sides to windows mixers
        playback
        and
        record

most people dont fully understand PC audio
        -Thanks

          I don't fully understand it - at least not a deep-down level.

For my setup I've got the laptop (Realtek) and the Andrea SUMA plugged in through USB. Ultimately giving me 2 outputs, and 2 inputs.
The laptop input isn't a true input, only active with recording software is active. It's crappy not supporting echo cancelling, thus the use of the Andrea SUMA. I did try to get it to work with the Array microphone before I bought the SUMA, but it didn't work out.

In Windows sound control I've got the audio playback set to Realtek; and voice recording and voice playback set to Andrea.

I guess if I could run the Andrea output into the input of the Realtek, then really this wouldn't be needed - stupid Laptop! Then I'd be able to adjust the "linein" control in the mixer to control the voice output... really only needed for phonecalls.

And I guess with RR only controlling the primary mixer - likely not gonna happen - like you say.
I'll still check debug next week; but I won't hold my breath with that info.

right, the andrea is a "sound card"

RR only will enum the playback mixer, and give you lines avail to control
            they are listed in debug.txt

im also not sure why u need to control the mic
besides in most cases thats on the recording side of the mixer
so program captures that data, and sends out the playback side, in your case a differnt mixer
since u said speakers froms of the reltek
            -Thanks
