  • CDA files with foobar problem in RR

    good afternoon boy's. I have a problem with foobar and CDA files.
    practically laughs runner will not open why?
    RRCONFIG in selecting another player that does not happen.
    Another question why in RIDE RUNNER do not see the titles of the CDA file?
    I speak of CDTEXT.
    obviously if I open foobar CDA files are normally open and I see the titles.
    suggestions? solutions?

    Into the rr.ini file , try to change the line:
    AudioFiles=.aac,.m3u,.m3u8,.mp3,.wav,.wma,.xm,.xmz ,.ac3
    by
    AudioFiles=.aac,.m3u,.m3u8,.mp3,.wav,.wma,.xm,.xmz ,.ac3,.cda

      but then again, only with foobar is wrong.
      by returning to this error:

      the strange thing is that Foobar alone, plays them without problems.
      and for reading the CDTEXT?

            Sure they are. They're just created on the fly by windows instead of a static file on a storage medium. However, they're not truly audio files, they're just a description of that track's location on the CD. I imagine this isn't really an RR problem as much as it is Foobar not knowing how to handle the file if it's not launched directly from within foobar's GUI. Guessing RR would have to do some fancy background things to convey to the back end audio engine that track01.cda is actually track 1 of the current CD so play that please.

            TL;DR: It's a CD problem, probably with any audio software used this way, not just Foobar (my testing shows VLC doesn't know what to do with a CDA either if called via script or cli). Why are you using CDs? Why not rip them to FLAC or MP3?

              exactly, rr is just passing the information to foobar's API

                It's a shame the OP thinks it's RR coming up short on support.

                Here's a thought. Doesn't RR have WMP support? Can a different audio app be called depending on file extension? I bet .cda works fine with WMP as the player.

                  then the cause of the problem is the bees or the "DLL" "foo_runcmd.dll." is that so?
                  works badly. because as you can see from this screen foobar files. cda opens them quietly and in addition it also shows the titles.

                    its prob how foo's API is trying to deal with it... using foobar's GUI is NOT the same as its exposed API
                    at this point, I have no plans to visit this issue
                    sorry

                    cda files arnt a real media files, just a pointer to a location on a CD
                    -Thanks

                      ok thanks anyway. then if there is no way to solve this problem, it will be the right time to spend with each other.
                      thanks again, but RR has still several things that do not work.
                      will be a beta for a lifetime

                        its not beta... and CDA isn't a "file" type that RR claims to support
                        no one single program does everything, like Tidder suggested, try another media player...
                        I still have no idea how you get a cda file in the 1st place, without putting in a redbook audio cd
                        which is something I don't even have...well I do, they just put away in attic after I ripped them to all mp3 and put on hard drive
                        -Thanks

                          Audio players that sound good as foobar does not exist many. Wmp sounds terrible. in addition to not being able to select the ASIO driver of my sound card. cm then WMP does not even display the artist name and song title, it displays "Track. cda" RR unfortunately still has a lot of things that do not work for myself that this seems to be a beta for a lifetime. I personally have clearly u mp3 songs on my hard drive but it is unthinkable that if I have an original CD I can not listen to it because RR did not support.

                            Sounds like you should give Centrafuse a try if your not getting your money's worth out of RR...

                              Centrafuse is not even good .. does not choose the audio player that you want to use, so in my case I discarded a priori from the outset.
