  • Need Custom ResHacked iGuidance Version from someone please!

I have been out of the CarPc scene for a while, and decided to put one in my 86 Fiero. I have been tinkering on getting things to work again. It has been a chore, as I havent worked on any of that stuff in a long time, so its a new learning experience!

Anyhow, I put a lot of time and effort into a custom reshacked version of iGuidance 4.0, and had shared it with a lot of people. I am in the hopes that someone still has it. It chances the look a bit, as well as allowing entering coordinates, as well as some custom functions. If someone has it, I would be ever grateful for a copy!

You can email it to me at johnwpb at my gmaill email account. Thanks much!

    EDIT: just add:

iNav went out of business a few years ago, and iGuidance is no longer available. The .exe that I am asking for has a couple small tweaks to allow it to be controlled better by Ride Runner. The .exe is not stand alone, and you still need a serial number for activation, as well as the rest of the files.

Would it had an option to change the virtual keyboard to qwerty on that version by any chance? (I have IG2011)

Hmmmmm it's been a while.... I honestly do not know. I don't THINK the version I did had a QWERTY keyboard....

I don't have a copy of yours but I can send you the v4.0 version I reshacked a while ago if you'd like.

Thanks, that will work for now, and hopefully still be able to find a copy that I did back in the day. I had changed all of the graphics and icons to blue.

On another note: @JohnWPB, It is great to see you back on the forums. It has been a while and you have been missed. Thanks for all your innovations with DFX.

              Hi John,

WOW...glad to see you on here. Now, we can just get Blue to pop in too...I am loading RR and DFX in another car too and finding all my files. I kept the hack for iG4 and will look on my PC to post if no one has done it.

Thanks for the welcomes.... It HAS been a while I find myself having to figure stuff out that a few years ago I could have done with my eyes closed

I can actually see a new possible life for Ride Runner now. With the release of the FULL WINDOWS version of nice sleek tablets, that is the PERFECT platform to install Ride Runner onto. For around $300 you can get a fairly nice tablet, Quad Core 1.8 Ghz, that is your CarPC, Multi Touch Touchscreen, Bluetooth, Wifi and GPS all in one. On top of that you now have all of the Apps on Windows 8 like iHeart Radio, Skpe ect, weather....... I can easily see embedding the windows apps into Ride Runner.....(Using ModernMix from Stardock) Just thinking... and rambling.... but there is potential for sure!

I was in the carpc scene years ago.. and my new wife of 5 years said.. "That would be SO awesome!" so.. carpc #2 was born! I was able to find a copy of iguidance (via sharing sources...I'll leave it at that) if you would like a copy.. let me know.. no sense in getting in a huff over copywrong stuff if that company is out of business..
