  • RoadRunner and HotKeys Support

Hi to all guys of this great forum!! I Wanna do a special Tanks to GUINO and its great idea of RoadRunner, but to ALL other Programmers too (NinjaMonkey & Zorro specially), that make possible to realise our dreams. This is my first post, but i am following you from many months ago.

I have assembled my CarPC in July 2004 and i have always used Coyote Mediacar w/FebSperanza BrushedMetal Skin, and actually i'm using it. I'm testing RoadRunner at home, and i'm very impressed for the performances and the improvements that guino is apporting to the frontend.

Only one thing has stopped me in the change Mediacar for RR, because actually RR don't support the hotkeys, so i'm not able to control RR with PhoneControl. This is a feature very important, so i hope and ask to GUINO if you will implement this in the next evolution steps.

    Fabio

There's no Keyboard support yet, if that's what you want, but RR DOES HAVE a keyboard interface... You simple have to make your application (i.e. PhoneControl) type in full skin commands (i.e. "up" or "down" -- including the quotation marks). You can view the Girder GML file or the documentation in Skin Commands.txt if you want more details on all the commands available. The only requirement is that your controlling application (i.e. Phonecontrol, should be able to send full sentences of text to applications).

I do intend to add Keyboard Support very soon. It will be a fully configurable interface.

You can use girder and have a keyboard as the input device of girder so it relays the message to RoadRunner have a look at the girderfile included with roadrunner.

I intend control RR with my GSM terminal as i actually do in MC.

For example, in MC in the main menu with the cursor i'm able to navigate into.
When i'm into Music, pressing "L" i got access to playlist, by pressing "ESC" i can turn back.
