  • Question about launching an embedded application fromthe main menu screen

Hello Guino. Well I have searched and read the forum, but I'm still a little confused about how to do this. I want to add a button to my main menu screen for ODBII interface. so when I press that button it automatically luanches my ODBII software embedded. I managed to draw the button on the skin and give it coordinates in the menu.skin by writing

    B16,000,000,135,110,"ODBII","ODBII"

Now I read about using a spy program to get the class name, and window name. I have the spy program, and got these values. But I'm not sure where to put them or how to use them. I also read an example about putting a line similar to this

    LOAD;CAMERA.SKIN;LAUNCHING CAMERA;CAM.EXE;CAMERA

but there do I put this? in the menu.skin???

How exactly do I do this, so when I presss the odbII button in my mainmenu screen it launches my ODBII sofware embedded. thanks

If you're going to run it embbeded:

    B16,000,000,135,110,"LOAD;ODBII.SKIN;ODB;ODBII.EXE ;ODB II",""
(youll need to create the odbii.skin file and replace the EXE name and Window title above)

    For running it non-embbeded:

    B16,000,000,135,110,"RUNW;ODBII.EXE",""

Read the Skin Commands.txt file for details..

so no need to use the clas name? just the window name? one final question. Where do I define the path of the ODBII executable file?
          thanks

you can place the path right in front of the filename to execute: C:\odbii\odbii.exe or whatever..
