How does this look so far ?

I have completed the skin and CD Load, CDDB info and Ripping functions. I've gotta put together a Database indexing and then searches... just posting for opinions/suggestions...

    Let me know,

This is a separate (optional) plugin.. can be used with or without RR. But it is completely seamless in RR -- it is derived from the Base Plugin. You can leave the plugin ripping a CD while using other functions/screens in RR.

Does it connect to CDDB online or can we use FreeDB on the CarPC etc?

FreeDB is a type of CDDB (CD Database).. it is the server I actually use.. it loads it online.. I can easily make it store/reload CD info from the HardDrive (local storage), but what's the point ? It is possible to use the plugin without being online by editing the CD info manually (osk).

I have the "Downlaodeable FreeDB" info on my car.. I use it with CDex... GPRS is expensive here, and I didnt even have GPRS in the car when I set it up... basically, it is a copy of the CDDB locally... any CD I put in it will get the info without having to connect....

Can you consider this as an option? I'm sure it wouldnt be difficult to add if you already do all the FreeDB lookup... It isnt like cacheing the CDDB info, it is the full DB locally, so if I buy a cd at the mall and put it in the car to start ripping it will have that CD in the DB

I was thinking to run embedded CDex, but I don't need it now. Good work Guino.

Do you have this UNZIPPED on your hard drive ? The Zip file is like 300Mb+ isn't it ? I'm assumming there are incredible amounts of file to search through, isnt that slow ? or do they provide an index ?

I'm not sure how it works... I've never had a problem with speed...

I think it has some sort of index... I dont remember the exact size, but I think it is under 600mb... That is not too bad for folks with 40gb+ hds.... its the size of 1 divx to sacrifice in order to have the name/tracklist for any cd you may want to rip at your fngertips...

GPRS is just so flaky over here that it isnt even worth it....
