  • Can Someone Clear Up...

    How i can search through my playlists?

    i thought that was what the magnifying glass did?

    i sware it worked once, but now i type in a word and it never does anything...

    anyone shed any light?

    The search works.. but it starts searching from the CURRENT selection downwards.. If you wish to always search the entire list, you should change the Button code from "SEARCHLIST" to "GOTOFIRST||SEARCHLIST" in audio_player.skin. The Search provided in the folder browser is a file search and it is always for the entire Music folder.

              OK, not having that song in my directory, I renamed one of my MP3s to be "the_chemical_brothers-galaxy_bounce". I tried the following searches

              "Chemical" = Successful
              "Brothers" = Successful
              "Galaxy" = Successful
              "Chemical Galaxy" = Successful

              So, let me ask you
              1. Are you certain you have the proper directory set in RRConfig file under music?
              2. How did you set the code of your search button? My search button is coded like this: "!BROWSE||SEARCHFILES". It searches my whole music directory for every search

              ps I am using the search files screen.

                im using the magnifying glass button. which gives the command that guino to.d me to put in above.

                i will check my RR config but i dont see why it would work now and again if it was wrong.

                  I am searching my files though, not with searchlist. I am using the searchfiles command. It searches my whole music directory and it is the only thing I'd ever use to find mp3s. I haven't setup any playlists or anything yet.

                    i still cant get this to work.

                    it works the first time after u open it. but after that it wont work again

                    ive tried search list, and search files.

                    i have so many mp3s, all i want it to do, is when i fancy listening to a particular one i can type in a name, and i can keep searching till i find it.

                    like in winamp when you press the . key on the numpad...

                    is it right im using the magnifying glass on the main screen or not?

                      hmm wierd. changed skin back to GOTOFIRST||SEACHFILES, some words it works for, and others it doesnt.

                        searchfiles is a FILENAME search .. if what you're looking for is not in the file NAME (ie. ID3 data) this will NOT work.. the only way to search ID3 data is to turn ON the winamp library and select one of the --Artist|Title|Genre-- entries and hit searchfiles.. this will search the winamp library for matching results (filename+Id3 tags).

                            ok i got the library search working, but everytime you use this, it clears ur play list and just shows the tracks you have searched.

                            i take it there is no way to do a full search, and it just goes to play the file you want in your existing playlist... without clearing the playlist or anything.

                              after doing the library search, just press +1 to add the song to the playlist WITHOUT clearing it. You can also use the select+ button to add all results from the search onto the playlist. There's no way to search your full library from the audio player screen (unless you add ALL songs into the playlist and use searchlist -- not recommended)...
