  • Cinergy 600 annoying sound problem

I've installed a Cinergy 600 card. Everything works fine, but there is a very annoying problem with the sound. Radio is fine but when I change to TV and then going to change the TV channel the line in level go down to near minimum. And when I then go back to radio it stay low.

I use the Cinergy in the Car normally.. there's no issues with the Sound level, and it doesn't change when going into TV either. This may be an issue between the TV plugin and the sound card drivers -- There's nothing in RR that will modify/set volumes while in TV... I believe CDRSkull has reported the same issue (with a different tv card!) which leads me to believe it doesn't have to do with the Cinergy 600 itself. I'd recommend playing around with the TV plugin's settings and perhaps trying a different version. it is most likely that if you simply start the TV plugin OUTSIDE RR it will still come up with the same issue -- I suggest you verify it.

I've tried that and a lot of other thing. What I can see I must have yhe volume slider in winamp to max, then I don't lose the sound. But when I try to decrease the volume in RR the master volume slider go directly to the bottom and all the others go down for each push. I think this is wery strange, and I think I'm lost. I've tried this for a couple of days now and I can for my life found a solution.
      Any suggestions.

-Does it happen only on the TV screen ?
-Does it happen only with the Cinergy 600 installed ?
-If you use the windows mixer to change volumes, does RR display the volumes correctly ?
-Do you have the latest drivers for your sound card installed ? Have you looked for updates ?
-Do you have more than one sound card ?
-Do you have a bluetooth or USB-Sound device ?
-Have you verified which is the DEFAULT sound device in Windows ?

I suggest using the DirectSound otput plugin in winamp and configuring it to playback using the sound card of your choice.

Yes but sometime I got it all in mute mode when I start RR.
Yes only with the Cinergy card installed.
Yes but with the card installer the RR slider din't move.
Yes the latest driver and the last update. Soundblaster Live.
Yes but the one on the motherboard is disabled in BIOS.
          No bluetoth or USB card.
Yes and the onli choise I have is the Soundblaster Live card.

I will try the direct sound and see what happens.

With the Card installed: Add debugmode=true to RR.INI, run RR, go into TV and exit RR. then post the debug log file.. It may also be helpful if you do the same WITHOUT the card installed so we can compare the log files and check for any differences..

Make sure to delete the debug log file before running RR each time (so it is clean).

After that the computer locked up!

I think that it's very strange when all the sliders in the playcontrol move
at the same time. Maybe it's only my computer I'll try to put the card in the car to see what happens. I must first modify my case and fix the antenna.
Hope I can do it this week.

At last I got a solution! It was winamp related. From the beginning i made anew install of RR and a new winamp 2.95 install, the problem still there. I take away the winamp and put in a new one 5.08d and after that all run as expected.

Yeah, man I actually made a few tests here and could simply not figure it out... the TV plugin may behave differently in 2.95 as opposed to the 5.0x version.. that's probably what was causing your issue... The only thing I was going to suggest (for 2.95) was to make a mixer preset to load when either entering or Exiting the TV screen. But glad you found a solution.
