  • RR 08-30-05 ... Ipod Support & Fixes ...

    In this version:

    - Added iPod database support (iTunesDB)
    - Added support for clipping screens by using PINK color on EMPTY image
    - Improved Speed of Winamp Library support
    - Improved MPC support to position the mouse at bottom left of screen
    - Fixed issue with embedding TV window
    - Fixed issue with Black screen when loading new screens
    - Fixed issue with hanging on Shutdown of RR
    - Fixed issue with slow Flashing skin freeze
    - Fixed issue with hiding emmbeeded application on skin switch

    Notes:

-iPod support is BETA and much like the winamp library support, just add a setting for the iPod Drive in RR.INI: ipoddrive=<DRIVE LETTER> and options to browse the iPod songs will show up. You should enable ID3 support in order to propperly display the song titles. I'll work on loading the TAG info from the iPod database file later.
-I've improved quite a bit the speed of the winamp library support but I don't think I can make it any faster now.
-Other than that, just fixed a few annoying bugs

I've received some new code from Hematec on Phoco support and have yet to look into it.. I just haven't had much time to work on this stuff since I've been somewhat sick lately.. I hope to get into that soon..

    Thanks for your support,
    Guino.

It would be like ipoddrive=D:\ or ipoddrive=D?

Just to make sure whilst my girlfriend doesnt ride with me (she owns the ipod )

Anyways, how/where will it pop up? is it something like browse.rrl? Will the ipod come up in my "root" dir?

    Cheers

I assume you also got over the mouse hiding problems, and slower times and such in the same lump as the flashing problems right?

??? I pod ??? I don't get it, you've got a PC with mucho gigabytes of storage WTF would you ever need I Pud? Next thing you know G people will be clamoring for native I tunes support in RR. Heck G While you are at it when do you think you'll get around to implementing that F-16 tactical database search function to RR. I'm itching to down link the ATACS data from my jet.

Due to the sheer number of Ipods out there, this is a feaure that cant be overlooked.... A friend comes into your car, with his ipod, boom you play the tunes...

Sorry this is a fantastic feature! (and its useful, unlike your unreal example... dont even know where you get that much imagination from)

Anyways, Guino, would it be possible to copy tracks from the Ipod?

Thanks for an updated release. I have many friends with ipods, and this is a great feature.

Just wondering if you have put any more thought into the .EQF files for customizing the EQ settings for different songs/albums. You had mentioned you might be able to load a .eqf file that was located in the directory you are currently in. If you plan on doing anything like this, it would also be great to have a "save .eqf" button in the mixer section so you could adjust the EQ they way you like it, and then have it save the settings to an .eqf file in the folder you are currently in.

Anyway, just a suggestion. Hope you get better soon. And thanks again.

O.K. If we're gonna have IPod support, then I think its only fair to provide support for Internet radio. I use Winamp radio quite a bit at home. Problem is the playlist entries for internet radio are different than those for standard music files. Attached is my internet radio playlist using basic RR id3listformat=%title% / %artist% / %album%. I also tried filename, with and without ID3 tags, to no avail.

From what I can tell Winamp has a set of commands called ATF that allows for if statements that is used to check the feed for certain info and based on that change playlist output accordingly.

I use toaster with winamp. Toaster provides a popup based on condition changes in winamp. Its format includes album art (MP3 imbedded or folder if not) and four lines of text each having a right and left justified format. Toaster ID3V2 pic
My Toaster settings are as follows:

                      LINE 1LEFT: %plpos%/%pllen% $if(%ishttp%,,'('%lengthf%')' $if(%cmp(:status=New Rating)%,Rating,))
                      LINE1RIGHT: $if(%ishttp%,Internet Radio,[$if2(%ratingstar%,Unrated)][ '('%playcount%')'])
                      LINE2LEFT: $if(%ishttp%,%watitle%,$if2([%tracknumber%. ]%title%,$filepart(%filename%)))
                      LINE3LEFT: $if(%ishttp%,%filename%,%artist%)
                      LINE4LEFT: $if(%ishttp%,,$if2(%album%,%parentdir%))
                      Toaster Internet Radio pic
Line 2 is largest text and bold containing the Internet radio song title, artist, and station ID. I just can't figure out how to get RR to show it.

I also noticed on some internet radio channels, the playlist info will change up to 4 times between songs - from previous song to station logo to station ID to "buffering" to new song. I have added "RELOADLIST" to my audio_player skins but the song title never updates to match what is being shown by winamp.

Ask nicely... he doesn't have to put anything in...

And as for why put iPod support in? The reason I wanted iPod support is that I'm using a laptop for a carputer, and the hd is only 20jiggas. Now if i plug in my ipod, boom, 40 extra gigs of music that I don't need to store on the laptop. I don't need itunes support.. infact I never use itunes.. With the mlpod plug in for winamp, it does all my syncing for me

I think clipping screens is like a mask or alpha channel?
