  • ID3 tags - not cooperating

I have a mix of ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags on my collection of MP3's. These files display corectly in the winamp media library, but in RR all I get is the filename.

    e.g. %artist% , %title%
    displays as: , filename

I think I have tried every combination of settings. Any suggestions?

Does RR load the tags correctly if you load them through the -- Artist -- (etc) entries ? Maybe posting a shot of your RRConfig settings, or RR.INI would help... For you, I'd suggest setting RRConfig to "Prefer ID3v2 Tags"...

When I browse by --artist-- or whatever, I can get to the level where there should be song titles, but it's blank.

RR.ini attached. Thanks for the quick response, and all of your hard work. I enjoy it every day.

Your RR.INI seems to show that you're using ONLY ID3v2.... not all sure, but I'd check again...

try an older winamp version and rebuild the library for this "blank" issue.. there was a bug fixed for next version... only happens with newer winamp versions.

          update:
I loaded Winamp 5.0. ID3v1 tags display properly now. ID3v2 tags still do not work, reguardless of RR settings. Of interest, I think all of my ID3v2 tags (most of my collection) were generated by iTunes on my Mac Powerbook. Does anyone know if there is something about iTunes that affects v2 tags?
