  • 187 Picture Viewer for RR - Fully skinnable via special design for embedding

    Basically the main window embeds into an application window in RR. the controls are sent via sendkey. It works great. Included in the RAR is the program, an instuctions text file, a sample skin file, and my Brushed Blue Skin w/ the picviewer already embedded if you would like to use the skin or simply just to see the picviewer in action before actually going to the trouble of skinning it into your favorite skin. I'm currently working on a full version of my picviewer as a plugin, but it's coming a little slowly do to the learning process. This works great for now, if you like the picviewer.

    I can also make an option menu to select the color of the gui panel as well, so it could match a skin color or at least come close..

    WOW! Thank you J187, It looks really cool. I haven't played with it yet but is it possible to just show the filename in place of the path. Also, can this work with embedding it "fullscreen" (does the exit button send a "CANCEL" command back to RoadRunner)?

        Is it possible to show the file name in place of the path, no. But, under options, there is an option to display filename stamped right at the bottom of the picture in bold letters. I can also add an option to hide the path if it's annoying. I will have to think about the fullscreen thing, where you just touch/click the center of the app window and it returns? Hmmm.

          yeah, 11View actually inspired me to do this. I used it for a while but it's way overly complicated IMHO. Also, every time it runs it puts some stupid little square window into memory and has prevented my shutdown before. Also, it had problems giving focus back to RR, whereas the program I wrote gives focus to RR by code - thanks to Guino's help. The result is a feeling almost as if the program is native to RR, it doesn't feel like passing commands through Sendkey - Losing focus sometimes. Also, I really only did this mostly for the programming experience. I wanted to learn VB6 and I figured might as well not waste my time on a "Hello World" project. Plus, this has given me the opportunity to study the plugin coding for RR and learn. I'm getting closer to making the full version of the program a plugin for RR rather than embedded seperatly. Its basically a productive learning experience for me.

            Oh by the way, if you do want to try it out, just copy the skin that's in the folder, Brushed Blue, into the RR>skins folder. The photos option will be under Apps>Photos, from the main menu.

              Is it is just a label? You could use this to strip to just the file name

              Code:
              'file name with ext
              strFileName = Right(strFileName, Len(strFileName) - InStrRev(strFileName, "\"))
              'file name without ext using the string above
              strFileName = Left(strFileName, Len(strFileName) - 4)
              Label.Caption = strFileName
              kth

                Thanks, accomplishing it in code would be simple enough. I could actually use Label = file1.Filetitle which would already be just the filename without having to use right functions. But, I was repsonding to Dinasty by saying that it wasn't done in the version I released, and the reason is, you can select to show the filename under the options menu and it displays the filename in a better location. Thanks though!!
