  • weird problem with RR and mapmonkey

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    i've got a weird problem

when i change songs from RR while MM is on (ie the maps are open) the maps flash and sometimes it goes black! the only way to get MM to opne again is to close it and reopn it

and sometimes it just disapears and i get a black screen instead of the map.

the music buttons of RR work fine ...

    any ideas?

    thanks

I actually think this is a bug thats crept in (the mapmonkey window disappearing),I've installed RR 20 times or so in 18 months and its only this year i'm noticing this problem(its affected every installation i've done since February)
        Its now getting Quite annoying.

Anyhow, could some1 tell me how to get a clipping box with RGB included out of this=

The problem is that mapmonkey used to run embedded inside RR's skin but with later versions MM started to embed improperly inside RR's skin (at no change in RR), so I disabled that bit of the code to make sure it would work (even if not as intended).

Now, your A definition is wrong, you should have THREE (3) numbers for the RGB color, or NONE at all. For the C definition (Clipping) you should only have x y w and h, adding an extra value will screw things up. You could have looked up the C definition in skin commands.txt but just the fact you read the FAQ entirely was enough to make me want to help.

Here's the .skin that should work for you:

          MEDIACAR "ExternalGPS" Skin
          mm_off.jpg,mm_OFF.jpg,mm_ON.jpg,mm.jpg

          /, B, x, y, w, h, Command;COMMANDCODES, Tooltip
          B01,690,0,53,54,"CLOSE","Close"
          B02,745,0,54,54,"EXIT","Exit"

          /, L, x, y, w, h, color R;RGB, G, B, font size;FONT, font name, Code;LABELCODES, Tooltip;LABELALIGNMENT
          L01,10,5,100,25,255,255,255,15,"Arial Narrow:B","TIME","Time"
          L02,10,30,100,25,255,255,255,15,"Arial Narrow:B","DATE","Date"
          L03,115,4,566,46,255,245,000,22 ,"Tahoma:B","TRACKNAME","scroll-center"

          /, A, x, y, w, h, color;RGB
          A01,0,55,800,455
          C01,0,55,800,455

          END

I'm sorry Guino,i figured it out shortly after posting.
I was confusing this with the pink area transparency thing and was expecting somewhere to enter the RGB values for PINK.

            Thanks for the help.

While i'm on the subject of clipping.....I've searched but can't find it now,i think i read about clipping a region like a circle (or close).

I'm sorry if this is in skin commands.txt but that document boggles my mind.

If you want to clip a region of a screen other than a rectangle, you can do so by having the area to be clipped out in PINK on the EMPTY image. You should use a BMP file for it to work well.

ok i tested mapmonkey by itself

and it just dissapears after a while (not the same amount of time)

without having a route planned or anything

so the problem is not from RR!

                any ideas?

With Mappoint 06 and FD, I haven't used MM in a while..

Try playing with the start position settings or try different skins.
