  • Problem - "ADDFAV" and "NEARBY" commands aren't working

I'm using a standard Brushed Metal skin - the Mappoint location search screen has an add favourite ("Addfav") button and a "nearby" button, but neither of them work. If I click either button, I just get the command spoken back to me (e.g. the voice says "Nearby").

I've looked at the source code, and the only references to Addfav and Nearby are in ModRoadRunner, but they're buried in a "select case" block that is commented "'Process OSK/NUMPAD info according to screen/function". It looks like the commands are being ignored by RR unless the buttons origninate from the OSK.

I've experimented by moving the code that starts with _Case "ADDFAV"_ alongside all the other RR commands (outside of the OSK select...case block) and it's then recognized by RR, although it writes garbage to the favourites.ini file.

Should these buttons work in any screen, or am I missing something?!

I found a bug on the ADDFAV and DELFAV commands and have just fixed it for next release.

The NEARBY function only works with a GPS LOCK (Valid GPS position aquired).

        Thanks

Does that mean it's normal for RR to speak "NEARBY" when pressing the button without a GPS lock? I thought it would stay silent - from the code, it looks like RR only speaks a command if it can't find any other reference to it in modRoadRunner's "select...case" block?

this sounds about right.. the nearby command only gets processed if the GPS has a valid lock, otherwise it's pretty much ignored, thus getting to that "speak unknown code".
