can you play these files in mediaplayerclasic outside of RR?
when you add the file type inside of RR that just tell RR to show you that file in the browser, you still need a codec for it to actually be viewable.
well, I can't possibly make a built-in player that plays everything.. if it works in MPC, then turn off the built-in player option and use MPC to play it in RR. The Built-in player will play anything that WINDOWS is able to handle natively -- even if by using codecs (I have many .RAM files in the car, which require real audio codecs installed, and they play in the built in player fine)
i'm picking up this little older thread because I ran into similar problems.
I'm trying to playback .swf, .mov and .rm files. The play fine if opened with MediaplayerClassic, they play fine if double clicked (that means windows CAN handle them, doesn't it?) (Quicktime and Realpalyer are installed)
With the built in player i only get a black picture.
If I uncheck the built-in player they will play fine, but some of my commands won't work anymore. (i.e I've created a double function for the FastForward Key on my remote, short press jumps to next song/video, long press fastforwards through the actual track)
So I would like to use the builtin player. What's the exact criteria that you mean by "windows must be able to handle the files natively"?
Thanks in advance
