  • A few Road Runner Issues

I have a few on going issues with rr that I think someone with a little more experience than I could maybe help me with.

    1. Why cant I seem to get any album art to show in rr?
    2. Why does the winamp player still show on top of rr when I start it even though I have it checked to be hidden in rrConfig?
    3. How do you get the winamp graphic to display in roadRunner. I press on the button and it just brings winamp to the front.

Thanks in advance for your help

    1. Show Icons has to be enabled in RR.INI, also the jpg's can't have the system and hidden attributes set (which they will if you got the jpgs from something like Media Player)

    2. Try using classic skin instead of modern in Winamp config

    3. same as 2.

    Enjoy!

hmmm....only other thing I can think of is do you have "Disable always on top while fullscreen applications have focus" selected in general preferences of Winamp.....

Also, make sure RIGHT CLICK>OPTIONS>ALWAYS ON TOP is OFF

Or tick the option "Hide WINAMP" in RRConfig.

                Hidden .jpg files

Windows has this habbit of placing the hidden flag on the folder.jpg files.

Open up a text editor, and place this line into it:

                attrib -s -h -r f:\mp3\*.jpg /s

(change the path above in red, to your MP3 Root folder)

Then, save it as something .bat EA: UnhideFiles.bat

Now double click that file, and it will remove the hidden attribute from any of the files from that directory, and all subdirectories. For me it takes about 15 seconds to go through my mp3 folder that has a little over 900 Albums in it.

ALSO there has to bea .jpg file in the top folder ofr it to show. What I mean is if you have an artist with 3 albums, that there has to be a .jpg in the top level folder, as well as in the subfolders, Like this:

                Artist Name Folder
                .Jpg Here
                (Album 1)
                .jpg
                Song 1
                song 2
                (Album2 )
                .jpg
                Song 1
                song 2
                (Album 3)
                .jpg
                Song 1
                song 2

I sepnt the better part of a couple house going through all of my album folders, and moving one of the photo's to the root of the artist folder. The better way to do this, would be to get a generic artis photo/band photo and to put it in that folder. But I wasn't about to go to try to find artist photo's for 900 or so artists!

Im getting closer... Got the visuals to work. Winamp no longer ends up on top when I start rr... Now I'm trying to some album art showing up. I couldnt get the apps to download the album art so I downloaded it myself and put it in the artist and album directory. No luck, but I havent given up yet Thanks again!
