  • Why is RR saying things it is not supposed too ?

I have enabled voices in the RR.ini file.
Every time that I press the GPS button the voice says “External Gps”. The GPS button does not have this in it’s string as you can see below.
    B02,285,129,138,79,"GPS".

I’ve checked all other ini files for something that can cause this but everything seems OK.
Does anyone know why this is happening? Is it hard coded into RR ?
Guino please shed some light on this.
The road is long but we are getting there.

There are some key commands that are already hardcoded into RR, GPS, MUSIC, VIDEO just to name a few. These are already programmed to speak when there is no audio playing.

If it just said "GPS" it would be OK. But "External GPS" is a no no.

I had this problem too with RR/MapMonkey. In this case each time GPS is selected it says "MapMonkey" The only way I stopped this ( because it was hard coded in MM I believe) was to un-tick "Voice Enabled" in RRConfig.

You can reprogram what RR says in exectbl, for instance:

          "AUDIO","LOAD;audio_player.skin;TEXT TO SAY"

and similarly to other pre-defined screens.

Yes it does, you have to add the path and window title of MM in that case.

You can use variables for that though:

              "DESTINATOR","LOAD;Destinator_GPS.skin;TEXT TO SAY;$MAPMONKEYPATH$;Map Monkey"

OK, Here's the exectbl entry with the standard Map Monkey path :-
                  "DESTINATOR","LOAD;Destinator_GPS.skin;GPS;C:\Dest inatorApps\Map Monkey\MapMonkey.exe;Map Monkey"
                  It STILL says "Map Monkey"
                  Convince me I'm wrong please

@strohj: the space is a forum issue.

@wizz: Which command are you using to launch MM Anyway ? My best guess is that you're NOT using the "DESTINATOR" command.

are you still using the gps command to launch gps?
You should use DESTINATOR because that is a custom command to the problem.

Does this "$" represent a command, should it be part of the path?
                              Like this = "DESTINATOR","LOAD;Destinator_GPS.skin;GPS;$C:\Des tinatorApps\Map Monkey\MapMonkey.exe$;Map Monkey"

I've seen heavy use of this in the freedom skins.
