  • Shuffle/Repeat modes

This has kind of bothered me for a while.

In RR the shuffle/repeat toggle is a bit weird.
    There are 3 modes.
    SHUFFLE
    REPEAT
    OFF

but they are all tied to the same toggle, and the repeat function in RR really doesn't do anything.

In winamp there are 2 separate buttons for shuffle and repeat with different modes for each.
    SHUFFLE: on or off
    REPEAT: all, track , off

So in RR there is no repeat track only repeat all. Repeat and off do exactly the same thing so what you end up with is a button toggle that goes something like, ON/OFF/OFF.

Winamp 2.9x only had repeat all. I was never aware repeat track was available in any version, I'll take a look at the SDK to see if there's a way to toggle it as well.

      cool,
after i posted i started thinking about that but wasn't sure if the feature wasn't avail in older winamps, i never liked or used winamp 2.x

If you can get the repeat all to work, it would be cool if the commands could be separated so each shuffle and repeat have there own toggles and also a command to set the state to off directly.

      Something like:

      Shuffle- off/on (2 state toggle)
      Shuffle- off
      Repeat-all/track/off (3 state toggle)
      Repeat-track
      Repeat-all
      Repeat-off
      01101100 01101001 01110001 01110101 01101001 01100100 01011111 01110011
      01101101 01101111 01101011 01100101

        Repeat & Shuffle commands

LS, Here we go again on the same Wavelength!

I just added indicators to my skin yesterday for toggling repeat & shuffle. There actually are 2 seperate commands avail in the ScriptCommands.txt file "Shuffle" & "Repeat". I have 2 seperate buttons my skin, and each controls the indicators seperately.

BUT, I also noticed that it does not repeat the track, when the indicator shows that it is set to repeat. I thought I was doing something incorrectly, then I read here that it is repeating ALL songs.

So yes, it would be nice to have the repead to do:
        All/One Sont/Off.
FOr this to work, it also means another indicator would have to be created in RR to use and be able to tell if it was set to repeat one song or all.

ha ha, dude you dont even know. I saw your post the other day about the OSK and delay, i had just finished having a PM reply with guino basicly giving me the same answer, to use the OSKTOCMD, lol.

You always could have separate buttons for suff/repeat functions. Whats missing is a way to turn it off without a toggle, so if its already set to off and you send any of the avail commands it will turn it on. I want to be able to send an off command and not care if its on or not first.

Hahahah the OSKTOCMD definately seems to be the of the day!!!!

I just thought of something........ you CAN have an OFF button.

With the following button code, this SHOULD replicate an OFF command.

              "BYIND;REPEAT;WAIT;0.1<<REPEAT||BYIND;SHUFFLE;WAIT ;0.1<<SHUFFLE"

I have not tested the above code, but theoretically it should work, and is in the proper format ect.

Basically, The first half looks at the repeat indicator/status, if it's ON It toggles repeat (Thus, turning it off) If it's OFF, it will just wait for a 10th of a second. (Only harmless thing I could think of for a place holder / NULL command ) The second part, does the same thing with the shuffle command.

Woa! me be RR coding!!! I think I may be actually be starting to catch onto this stuff!

EDIT: WooHoo! I HAD to test the code to see if it worked, and it does! It's pretty kewl to have the SHUFFLE indicator and the REPEAT indicator both dissappear with one button press!

You can send a off for sure

                “TURNOFFSHUFFEL”,”BYIND;SHUFFLE;<<SHUFFLE”

                or anything with indicator

Wouldn't that code just look at the indicator, and if it's off, send Shuffle turning it on, and if it's off, turn it back on... I think the command above works exactly like the "stock" shuffle command

EDIT: I just tried that code, on the same button I tested mine as mentioned above, and it Turns the SHUFFLE On no matter it's current state, if it's on it stays on, if it's of it turns it on.

Your Right Chuck... but that is STRANGE! When I tried it a few minutes ago, it was turning the indicator on... I used my button to turn it of, then hit yours and it came back on.... VERY strange indeed.

BUT that does turn it off....
