  • GPS problem with RR running as shell

With the help of this guide I was able to boot directly into Road Runner. Everything seemed to be working fine till I opened GPS and found out that for some reason GPS is not locking to any settelites. So I imported the orignal registry (with Explorer as shell) file and restarted the computer and everything started working again.

What could be the connection between GPS unit and explorer ? that it does not work when window boots directly to frontend ?

    Any idea ?

Update: It seems like Xport is the cause of the problem. When RR loads as shell, Xport does not run. But then when I manually run it, GPS starts working.

How do I make it load automatically with RR ? Also, when using RR as shell, how can I get rid of RR splash screen ?

When running RR as shell you need to start Xport3 from the start command in RRConfig.exe.
RUN;C:\Program Files\Road Runner\Xport\Xport3.exe or where ever your Xport3.exe file is located.
To get rid of the splash you have to start RR with the /p switch.

        Try /q instead...as in quiet startup, don't know what /p gives ya...problems maybe...lol

You're right. Guess I was writing in mirror image.

            RUN;C:\Program Files\Road Runner\Xport\Xport3.exe
Where do I enter this ? In RRConfig ? Also is it ";" or ":" ?

Just wanted to say thanks for asking this question... I had the same results and knew it was xport, but didn't find the time to research it yet (and knew I was still tinkering a lot within the OS.) anyway.. now I have my answer.

                Right here,

And ';' go between commands and the paramaters.
