  • Albumart bug.. cant trace

Just installed my carpc again after the h/drive failed. loaded up mc2.0 and I dont get any album pic's, on checking the albumart tag isnt displaying the correct path, it seems to be missing the drive.. ie

    its only displaying
    \carpc\music

    when it should be showing
    c:\carpc\music

now on my main system everything is working as it should, I've even copied the whole folder from my main to my carpc and still am getting the same results. I'm testing it by simply added a label with 'albumart' in it.

any ideas at all.. updated my vb runtime files etc.. but still no luck, has anything changed to make something not happen ?

if you've copied the same files (that work) from your main machine, than it must be something related to settings. I can't think of anything (off my head) that could prevent the drive letter from being in the albumart label code.. (I'm assuming you do get the filename of the art as well as the path -- even if incomplete).. I'll check the code and see the possibilities.

EDIT: Please, post your 'musicpath' setting in RR.INI (the path of your music in RRConfig). Also if you can open winamp (without running RR), then saving the current playlist to an m3u file and post it, that may be helpful as well.

ok.. thats one thing I hadnt thought of .. was winamp. I'm running the latest 5.13 version which was released aweek or so ago. I saved a playlist as you suggested and opened it in notepad.. this too was missing the drive number. So I un-installed it and installed 2.95 and that solved the drive letter problem. I'm unsure if this is a fault with winamps current version or not, but at least we know about it now. :-)

I will drop back a few versions on winamp as soon as the old version site is up, cant connect at the mo (can then run the vis I want)

      cheers fella :-)

This is definitely something they changed on newer winamp versions.. I have added a little prevention against it for next release.
