  • problem with music browser

I have a problem with the new rr builds. It started happening from the 9/5 build.

Whenever I select a folder or the root ".." folder in the music or the album art browser and hit GO, rr adds the directories to the playlist, not the mp3's inside the directories...

for example, if I have the following folders:
    ..
    Artist 1
    - Album 1
    - - tracks
    - Album 2
    - - tracks
    Artist 2
    - Album 1
    - - tracks
    - Album 2
    - - tracks
if I select ".." and push go, it adds "Artist 1" and "Artist 2" to the playlist
if I select "Artist 1" and push go, it adds "Album 1" and "Album 2" to the playlist

I'm using beta rr 10/2 with the cfx skin and winamp 5.3.

    *bump*

am I missing something really simple here? or is no one else using the browser like that?

"GO" in the cfx audio browser (Not the one by album art) is "SELECT", in that case, based on that what you said IS what should be happening:

-if you hit Go on ".." of your structure RR won't back out of your music folder (will stay in the same place, and SELECT will basically load everything in the folder to the playlist.

-If you hit Go on a folder, RR will go INTO it and load whatever is inside.

From what I tested it worked just fine here.

but it used to go into the folders recursively and only load actual mp3s in those before the 9/5 build.

uhh.. it DOES load the mp3s here. I'm running the latest here of course, you may want to try a different version of winamp though. If there's one thing for sure is that the music browser is supposed to load songs, I mean, there's no use for it if it can't do that or if it loads other stuff than songs (which can't be played).

            ok, thank you

i'll try it with winamp 2.95 and see if it resumes working normally...

if it is a specific bug with rr and winamp 5.3, is there any hope for a fix?

I run 5.13 on my dev machine and it works fine, so I'm not sure it's a bug on anything as of right now.

Interesting... I hate when people at nullsoft decide to F#$@ with things that used to work. I'll have to get the latest winamp and check out the issue for myself.
