  • Savelist command not taking parameter

    Hi!

According to the "skin commands.txt", "savelist" can take a parameter for the playlist name and path. I tried it and its not working - savelist alone works, but brings up the osk...how to save a playlist directly?

2nd thing: i get sometimes an automation error on rr start using a plugin, but most times it works, with the latest beta, the error occurs on every start - any hints?

By the way: version information for the rr.exe is not used (always 1.0.0.0) , i dont understand why?

    Thanks!

1-are you specifying a path with savelist ? if so, DON'T!

    2-which plugin

3-RR uses the file date as version, for multiple reasons.

ad 1: savelist without path works, but brings up the osk, and i dont want the osk - also in "Skin Commands.txt" you wrote:

"SAVELIST" - This allows you to save a playlist to disk. You specify the full path of the playlist on disk.
      Example: "SAVELIST;C:\Test.m3u"
ad 2: my plugin - its not released - if you have time to take a look at it, i can post it.

ad 3: hmm, the date can change for some reasons...autoincrement the build number wouldnt hurt, wouldt it?

      Thanks for your time!

Sorry, if that's in the TXT it needs to be changed. The only way to use savelist withouth the OSK coming up is:

        "SAVELIST;TEST.M3U"

When I asked about the path, I mean just the part before the filename -- You CAN specify a filename -- and it will save it in your playlist path.

You need to make sure your plugin propperly registered in the machine -- and that it has the propper files required for it to run. That's all. I changed the code to be more accepting of plugins with problems, not the opposite. Chances are something is going on inside your plugin that's causing the issue -- RR won't care and won't display any error message from bad/missing plugins whatsoever, so if you're getting an error message, it comes from within your plugin.

          something must be broken:
          "SAVELIST;TEST.M3U"
does not save in the playlist path - it saves in the roadrunner directory...

The "SAVELIST" command, which opens the osk, saves to the playlist directory.

About the automation error: i found out, that it does not occur when winamp is already running. If winamp is closed, the error occurs to 80%...

which version of winamp are you runnig there has been a few issues with some jump-to-file plugin and something with playlist handling in the latest winamps. I have yet to look into it. If you send me a copy of your plugin sources I can definitely try it out.

            I'll try savelist here.

well, I was wrong, savelist can indeed save to any folder you desire. I tested with: "Savelist;c:\test.m3u" and it worked fine. What command did you try to use ?

winampversion: 2.95 cause 5.xx crashes after closing road runner

plugin source attached - unpack all in one dir - you need to register id3com.dll also

                thanks!

What command did you try to use ?
                  "Savelist;c:\test.m3u"

but it comes from flash via fscommand - maybe flash changes something...

ok, i found it: \ must be duplicated...
                  thanks for your help!

I actually had already seen your plugin before. I downloaded the above and it worked just fine here with 10-8. The automation error happens normally for one of two reasons: 1-File is missing/damaged, 2-File is of wrong version (from what's registered in registry). If you copy a new DLL version to a machine you have to register it again (unless you compiled it in the same machine).

Another likely possibility (since you said it only happens with winamp closed), is that the class_initialize code in your plugin is running into an error and so preventing the DLL from loading -- this could very well be a code issue, but if you use something like "ON ERROR RESUME NEXT" it should still load the DLL and work.
