Licence for software is paid for by buying maps, but unfortunetley this software is based on the Desitnator D3 Engine, which is now discountinued, you will need to purchase older maps for this to work (I have read some reports that certain newer maps have worked, but be warned!)

    MapPoint
NOTE: Mappoint support is available built-in RR. There's no need to embed it as long as you use a skin which supports mappoint for GPS. Otherwise, this information below can be used for launching it as a standard application (NOT recommended).
    Product Home Page:
    http://www.microsoft.com/mappoint/pr...6/default.mspx
    Embedding Details:
    GPS Path:C:\Program Files\Microsoft Mappoint\Mappoint.exe
    GPS Window Name: Mappoint

    Map Point 2009 Europe Edition
    GPs Path: C:\Program Files\Microsoft MapPoint Europe 2009\MapPoint.exe
GPS Window Name: Map - Microsoft MapPoint Europe

    Streets & Trips
    Product Home Page:

    Embedding Details:
    GPS Path:C:\Program Files\Microsoft Streets and Trips\Streets.exe
GPS Window Name: Map - Microsoft Streets & Trips
NOTE: Some version use the window title of: (The AND spelled out) Map - Microsoft Streets and Trips

    Unofficial GPS Programs

    I Go 8
Read/Get iGo MySize HERE, then use:
    GPS Path=C:\GPS\iGO 8\iGO-MySize.exe|-width=800 -height=412
    GPS Window Name=iGO8
(Adjust the width/height according to your skin)

    Tom Tom 5/6
This can only be used using a Windows CE emulator which can be quite complex and/or slow.

Use Blue ZX3 RRConfig (As including in the latest RR releases)

    F.a.q.

    F.A.Q. on the above FAQ.

    Q. When I click the NAV button <your Navigation program> does open but it's not embedded. It just opens as a program in front of RR.

    A.
If it opens but does not embed, it will be down to one of two things.

    1. The window name is incorrect. (use winspector to find correct window name)

    2. The program does not like resizing and won't embed.

    Q. I've finally got it embedded and working, however now it's not receiving any satellite signal. (I think this is because RR is intercepting it from the com port)

    A
. Either use a com port splitter or don't enter a value for GPS port in RRConfig.

Great idea. It should be expanded to all apps (not just GPS) like for instance the "sexy attached Analyzer" that's difficult to embed without just the right window name (which i don't remember right now).

hha meddler beat me to the punch I was watching the thread to see more items added before making it a sticky. I edited the title of the thread, as it is now a sticky, and did not need the )May want to make a sticky) in the title.

I also edited the post to include a link to iGuidance, as well as the price.

I think one link is good enough to go to a page that has detailed information for the software. Preferably the manufacturers site. Then you can compare features and such. If you then decide on one, you can easily google different stores that carry the software and shop around.

The other option is to have multiple links for each one, and then try to decide what links to include or not include...

For instance, if you like I can give you probably 100 links where you can buy Map Point, Streets & Trips or iGuidance easily

I think a chart to compare GPS programs easily would be extremely handy. Such as listing features that each has, such as Text to speech, 3D View, Voice Activated ect ect... (GPS Programs across the top, and features down the left, and X's in the columns for features for each one.

Just not sure how to do that in the forums, as some sort of table would be needed.

Here are a couple that were overlooked, and probably for good reason, as they are not really touch screen friendly, though Map Point is supported at the heart of RR, and has many skins to make it much more usable in the car.
