  • Is there a speed warning plugin?

    Evening,

As the title says. I'm using RR and Sygic for my FE and Sat Nav. I haven't got the coding skills but wondered about a plugin for RR.

The idea would be to access an app from the RR GPS nav screens to provide a selection screen of speeds i.e. 20, 30, 40, 50 ,60 and 70 and provide an overspeed warning, and a cancel button too. Obviously and app such as GPSGate would provide the PS signal on two virtual ports, one for Sat Nav app and one for speed warning app. This would be particularly useful in the UK for average speed cameras that are becoming more common!

Is there anything out there already (I haven't found any on a quick search prior to posting)? Any offers to quickly code an app ?

    Cheers,
    Dave

Great stuff ThunderStick. I managed to get it working. Thanks.

          Problems I had were:

          1) No audio warning
          2) Got overspeed warning before GPS app opened (code in ExecTBL.ini)
          3) Error when RR exited to do with object error (dueto Autoit script still running)

Don't get me wrong - I really appreciate your work and I don't want to seem ungrateful. I'm at the mercy of guys like you who know their stuff and give up their time to help, so I genuinely thank you .

As I say, please don't think I'm being ungrateful...........but the vision I had would be a button on the external_gps screen to produce a menu with preset speed limits i.e 20,30,40,50,60 and 70 to be selected, an indicator showing the speed limiting is in force, and pressing the same button on the external_gps screen to cancel the speed limiting.

Many thanks for you help ThunderStick and rest assured you've inspired me .

Version 2 addressed the Errror after exiting RR, the overspeed when you first start should also have been addressed in V2, No audio Make sure you have voice enabled checked in RRCONFIG.

Made some major changes to my plugin, This should be all you need and could hope for from a speed checker.
